No ICQ, or MSN, or any of that, that's not relevant. But you're right it started in 1989 but has nothing to do with html, search engines or the other things shown here relating to the evolution of the web. AOL provided a service, they didn't change anything through innovation like the other companies mentioned. They simply provided a service using the internet.
