This topic is to get a general idea of what the most popular resolutions are for mobile devices.

Please vote in the poll and or post below :)

I'm guessing that it will be phone-portrait followed by table-landscape, but I'm not too sure. I would like to prioritize mobile compatibility of the new site but the plan is definitely for the site to be fully responsive.

The first device style to be done is definitely gonna be mobile-portrait, to fit my phone :)

If you go to the new site's homepage and squish in your browser you can see it in action. Although what you're going to see here is the default responsive settings snapping the grid to various widths, so no real work has been done (so basically, it looks ugly right now, but you get the point of how it works).

i dont use my phone to browse very often, cuz it sucks, and being able to use it on GDU would be really helpful. it's a pain to use rmxpu on mine cuz its an idiot phone, the opposite of a smart phone. it's a touch screen tho. many sites tend to either take forever to load, or have delayed responses. usually both. and some sites take up too much memory and cant be loaded. not even social networking sites (there's a social networking option) work very well (even though i only use twitter to follow one person lol). i also cant post on forums in any way (or at least not this one) which is annoying >.>

when i get an email notification on my phone from GDU, i want to be able to respond to the post it's telling me about, without having to get on my computer, which i cant always do

i can stand to wait a bit for a page to load, since im used to that with my phone, and i dont think it can be helped, but it would be for the site to work better on it. like have a mobile version maybe?

Not sure what my ipod would fall under so i put tablet. I use to browse the site lots from my ipod but since the full version button on the bottom is broken for the forums i have stopped browsing around mobile. IPB's mobile layout is bad(never liked mobile layouts for any site. hard to get where you want easily).

As for resolution my ipod is 4th gen with 960x640.

I usually use it in portrait since its easier to browse around with 1 hand.

I use my HTC Evo 4G at on lunch breaks at work and stuff to check the few forums I frequent, including this one. I stick with portrait since it is easier to use one-handed as Polraudio mentioned. It has a resolution of 1280x720.

HTC EVO 4G - same as ForeverXer0

Kindle Fire - landscape on this one, only problem is that it's hard to click on the text box and write something. So posting anything on this site using the kindle is a pain.

Ipod touch - ever since I got my EVO is stop using the ipod for internet as, I can use it anywhere I go opposse to the ipod where I need a wifi to work it. But still easier to use the site on then the kindle.

When browsing mobile I put other 'cuz I really can't say I use one thing in particular. I use my phone a lot in both portrait and landscape. I also tend to use my Vita too sometimes. Or PS3 which can kind of be considered mobile simply because it's "browser" isn't the greatest so a mobile version of a site on there helps a lot.
