TsengFayt 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2012 Hey GDU, although I did have an account back in the days of RMXPU, I went on hiatus from game dev due to school and then subsequently my job. However there is just a void that can't be filled by anything shy of making a game happen. After a break from the game dev scene I took time to explore multiple coding languages and graphics design areas that I previously didn't have time or dedication to finish. That being said, I went from having roughly 36 certifications in different fields of computing, to having well over 65. With the freshly obtained skills and a growing indie team, I am looking forward to my project that has been lying in wait since around 07. I am still looking for more help as always, but I think the roughly 20% of the game developed so far is a step in the right direction for what I want to release, and I am happy to have GDU there along the way to help and inspired me and others to complete the games of their dreams! Wyzrd 12 Report post Posted September 19, 2012 Welcome Tseng! Glad you decided to not be a lurker no more! :) Quit a accomplishment you have there in the field of computing. Wish you the best of luck on finishing your game! Oh and if you didn't get it the first time. WELCOME TO GDU! :-p
madanchi 18 Report post Posted September 19, 2012 (edited) Welcome to GDU Tseng! It's always nice to hear that someones game is developing on the right track, and congrats on all those certifications! Edited September 19, 2012 by madanchi
TsengFayt 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 Thanks guys I really appreciate the support! Another reason why I have considered RMXPU and Creation Asylum my second homes in form of programming hang out spots for years. The game will be free for demo and support nearly 100% custom graphics and sounds (not using any game rips or RTP) so that will be a plus. Once I get a chance to release some spoilers I will be adding it to the Team forums and opening up positions for spriters and musicians. :3 Thanks everyone at GDU for being so awesome! Marked 197 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 Ahh Creation Asylum, my first ever forum and inspiration for RMXPU, one of the mightiest RM forums in its day that has fallen so incredibly far. I still visited it in the many many years I've had an account (like 6 years now), but now it's just a place full of spammy posts. It's quite amazing how big it was at its peak, and how it relinquished that traffic. With an overly priced $250 annual hosting bill, and only $50 donated so far this year, I foresee it going offline pretty soon. Quite a shame. The game will be free for demo and support nearly 100% custom graphics and sounds (not using any game rips or RTP) so that will be a plus. I look forward to seeing to your project :) Rumor has it the staff here are looking to for games to feature/sponsor. Once I get a chance to release some spoilers I will be adding it to the Team forums and opening up positions for spriters and musicians. :3 As an incentive to remain a non-lurker: I've got some nice plans for a project section on the site and the plan is to have build-in team management features. So it has two functions: a public page (or series of pages, like a mini-site) to promote your game, and then a behind the scenes control panel for you and your team members. There's team management websites out there, but their scope is large and not specifically designed for game development, and what better place to have a team management application than within a game development website? Anyways, welcome to GDU :)

This is very good news, I would be happy to test this feature when it releases. I am attempting to get this game to run on Mac OS and Android when finished through Cloud networking on OnLive. Hopefully this game will bring alot of players to see that indie gaming truly is where all the fun is these days.
