Saltome 16 Report post Posted September 27, 2012 Eventing class The line "Status" is in between the line that indicates the beginning of the teacher's list, and the list itself. Graphics class Says "Scripting teachers", not "Graphics teachers".
Marked 197 Report post Posted September 27, 2012 I really ought to delete the forums altogether and move the tutorials into the tutorials forums... that system is ancient now. Sadly I don't have time to go through and move all the topics, alter their topics to reflect their content, etc. :/ Things are a bit of a mess here right now to be honest... I only have time for the major stuff. Thanks for reporting! This is definitely on my todo list.
ShinGamix 1 Report post Posted September 27, 2012 Could one of the mods like Wyzrd do it for you?
Marked 197 Report post Posted September 27, 2012 The global mods have the powers to do so, yes. And yeah Wyzrd is the only active global mod right now, but I'm not gona ask him to do that until I start paying him :P
Wyzrd 12 Report post Posted September 27, 2012 Well I read this earlier and was thinking of doing it for you. But now you mention pay? How much we talking?
Marked 197 Report post Posted September 27, 2012 How about a quarter of the all the profits? Approximately 2.5 cents per day? I think I should do it coz you have to hide the topics that have broken demo's, rename all the unrelated titles and move them into the correct forum (which should only rmxp tutorials). Also, for example, Leon's scripting tutorials would preferably be linked to each other and each starting with "Leon's Scripting Lessons: Arrays" or something like that. I'm weird like that. But when you think about it, that could help a lot guests who never tell us how useful that is.
Wyzrd 12 Report post Posted September 28, 2012 So in a year I'd make $9! Man that's balling! I suppose I could start working on this in my free time.
Marked 197 Report post Posted September 28, 2012 Yeah, same :D Not that I really have any :(
Wyzrd 12 Report post Posted September 28, 2012 No, you don't need to work on it! You need to work on other more important things!

Marked 197 Report post Posted September 28, 2012 Haha well the advertising is pretty slow and takes years to accumulate right now. In terms of pageviews, we're a bit slow, but GDU is in its infancy. Since ads were put on the website, only 1/6th of the potential revenue was achieved, because only guests can see them and only in specific places. The revenue is worth it, we've got $136USD right now, which means we could have generated $800USD+ had ads been everywhere, but I'm not sure I want to give up the integrity of the site for just that. It would be great to reinvest money back into the site. Hire a pro SEO, buy CDN services, prizes for contests, etc. Hopefully we will have the means to do that in the future :)
Wyzrd 12 Report post Posted September 28, 2012 I always wondered about that. I'm like I never see ADS haha but that makes a lot of sense. And I wouldn't give up the integrity of the site as long as the guest are paying to keep it at least above what it cost to run! Also, Mark PM me about what you want to do with the cleaning up the classes. So we can talk about that matter. And that would be awesome if we could hire some pro help in like that to help make GDU bigger better! The site has so much potential.

As far as adds go i agree with Wyzrd i usually don't even notice them, and even if i do. who cares? They don't really prevent me from doing what I'm doing. I always wondered about that. Wyz, its not the site that has potential its the community, I've been on quite a few online comunities, some of them better than others. But I've never seen one with so much ardor and collective consciousness. It seems things are hectic right now, but when they calm down I'd suggest becoming a video game publisher, to make a profit off all the original games that are made here, while helping people make their games. And while we are on the subject of adds. I'd suggest using them more openly, and you can have an option in the user CP to disable\enable them. That way you will make more profit off guests, and the users who dont mind having adds in the background for their own community, while not irritating the people who (for some ungodly reason) think that adds are such a huge problem. Wyzrd 12 Report post Posted September 28, 2012 Yes the community does have potential as a whole but I used to be into web development hardcore. So I see the site differently than some people. I think I see it more as Mark does, I kind of focus on it a lot. I help Mark with a lot of bugs and things around the site. So to me that is my main focus sometimes. To help make sure everything is clean and good working for the community. ;)
