Hi all,

This is a must-watch video regarding the Megaupload case: The US trying to extradite Kim Dotcom from New Zealand to the US, and both country's seething corruption.

Its 15 minutes but you do have time, just watch it. It also explains why actors are shamelessly interfering with the electoral system labelled "democratic" by supporting one side in the media.

There's also a poll - multi-choice i case you don't agreement with the statements there.

I voted for both the no's.

I think the US should just stay out of the internet. The US tries to control everything and pisses everyone off. Yes im from the US and even dislike everything they do. I dont see why they try to control piracy when its not really piracy.

If you want to try to get rid of piracy arrest everyone in the world because we all tried it or done something like it at least once with or without knowing it.

Kimdotcom didn't even upload those files. It was all the users, so go arrest all the users instead(that are in the US).

the problem is that New Zealand isn't the only ones trying to make the US and inturn the 1% happy. Canada is the same boat and things have been shakey here for some time. The problem stems with the levels of corruption being so high that people are afraid to voice their opinions now and that the world governments are too afraid to lose the money in their pockets.

Unfortunatly we'd all need a world revolution, turning over those governments to see any difference. Force the big companies to pay for their crimes and hold them accountable for everything they do. It's a big job.

The solution to the problem is certainly a tough thing... But the first step is making sure that we all know about the problem. This video portrays New Zealand as corrupt as hell, and the government is and it sickens me. However, its the current party in power that is so pro-american, and they certainly will not remain in power next election. As the video said, its the PM John Key who is so eager please and to me he is scum. In saying that New Zealand fortunately has some redeeming features. Our judicature (the branch of government that is the courts) is sufficiently separate enough from the executive (the PM and his corrupt actions) that Kim Dotcom will be fairly trialled and will not be extradited. Similarly, our media isn't controlled by government and the video above was played at 7pm on one of our few news channels for all of NZ to see.

This shit makes me sick. I know where you're coming from when you say "a world revolution" is the only way, but I know the situation isn't as dire as that. At the end of the day we're the one who makes them all the money, and most of elect who's in power. We have the power but we need to collaboratively use it.

I miss Megaupload. If they had been a free file share service like 4shared, they would not have been attacked. Who knows? If this crap continues, we may lose all file sharing sites.

Nah, Kim Dotcom will have his new website up by the end of the year (its called megabox) and there's no way the US will get their hands on him. As the video shows, this is just an attempt to keep the money coming in from hollywood.

Though I must say, I have lost faith in my country over this issue. The NZ public is lied to right in front of their faces and the corruption is so obvious and yet the polls show he's barely lost any popularity. Dear the majority of NZers, you're f**king stupid and right now I have no pride in being one.

As an American myself I am ashamed of my own country too and want to move to the European Union. I lost pride in my country long ago but because of this Megaupload shit I am fully supportive of piracy and anything opposing this country's agenda at suppressing online file sharing. I was formerly against piracy but not any longer.

Yeah, this whole Kim Dotcom thing has acted as the perfect mechanism to hold politicians to account here in NZ, and has exposed the politicians themselves and branches of government such as the police and NZ's FBI equivalent.

Our PM blatantly lied, is totally corrupt and pro-american (as in supports the US government and wants to get in on the corruption and greed) and there was a poll after all of this came to light and his popularity fell only 2%. He lied to everyone and got caught, and they don't care? Since when do you support someone who lies to your face? Seriously that day I decided fuck you NZ. I was born in this country, I've never left and I was formally proud of where I come from, but when you support corruption like that its just unacceptable.

Sometimes you just gotta stand up for what's right... I'll abandon my country if it comes to it. If they extradite Kim Dotcom, like fuck my taxes are going to the scum that run this country. I've been following the case very closely and if the sell him off to the US then they're selling a humans life and right to freedom that will deprived of him in that country where they'll lock up for god knows how long just because Hollywood wants it. Just because he is rich himself and there are videos of his extravagant lifestyle (but since he has started a family and has kids) they think the people won't care.

If he gets extradited I'm packing up with my nz qualifications and working overseas.

The problem Marked, is that this isn't just a NZ problem. This problem of corruption in politics is world wide. when it comes down to it NZ seems a bit better off than other countries but even you guys still have your problems.

Here in Canada (my country), like in the US we've given all our political power to corperations. Realizing how bad that is people are finally taking steps to iliminate this, but we're still far from getting what we need. All i gotta say is as much as we have our issues, I still think we're better off than the US.

Well yeah, we will never come close to that level of immorality, the population of NZ is 4.5ish million. Nonetheless my standards are high. So what if we're better than the other countries if we're still corrupt.

I tend to only want to care about my own country and my own interests in that respect. I'm not some save the world hippy. It's not that I don't care but why put effort into caring when things arn't good at home.

It may the people of the internet who's voice counts, rather than people in individual countries.

It's a dilemma because our PM got caught out, there's little doubt about any of it, but people don't care? That's the problem. People are getting the right messages, they're not informed or think they've got better things to do. Governments will do whatever they want within the limits of what they know they can get away with. It's the people who are the problem.
