Interactive Game Project: You help write the Storyline!

Rules

 

 

• This story line will be turned into a project.
• Storyline is free for the community to write.
• There will be a main Storyline and side stories aka side quests
• Main Storyline must deal with members and figures of the community
• Side Stories have more open limitations
• No using ANY commercial or Copywrited figures or characters
• You can't use Superman, Chrono, or any other movie, game or anime character
• Parody characters are allowed like maybe BlooperMan or Bhono.
• Some adult or mature themed parts may be toned down or reworked
• Parodies and combining of storylines are allowed

Main Characters

Lexi is the daughter

• Is 18 now but was 3 when her Mom left them. She is now more like a Mom than a sister. She and Andy act more like friends than brother and sister until he starts to get into some trouble.

Andy is her younger brother

• Andy is now 15 and has never really known his Mom or Dad. Lives life carefree and the only real family he has known is his older sister.

Aunt Caroline

• Lexi and Andy lives with her. She took them in 15 years ago after her sister Victoria has a mental breakdown and abandoned the kids.

Vicky aka Victoria = The Mom

• No one has seen her in 15 years. Believed to have gone crazy after hearing the news of her husbands death in the war.

Prologue

Andy and Lexi live with their Aunt Caroline. It has been 15 years since the Phomara Wars and their dad was killed in the final battle that ended the war. There mother went crazy when she heard the news of her husbands death and abandoned the kids. Andy was only an infant then and Lexi was 3 years old. Her sister Caroline took them in and has been raising them for the past 15 years.

 

Chapter I : Where is my Lunch?

Part A

 

"Wake up Andy!" the young girl says as she shakes her brother in his bed. "We have to leave before the sun is all the way up or Aunt Caroline will never let us go!"

From under the covers, "Come on sis," he mumbles. "We can sneak out a window or something later. Let me get some more sleep."

"Come on Andy! Lexi says as she begins to bounce up and down on the bed. "We have to find her!"

Andy rolls over under the cover and gets too close to the edge of the bed. A second later Lexi bounces again and Andy falls over the side of the bed thumping the floor.

"Oweeee," that hurt. Andy cries out.

"Sorry Andy but we have to go," she says as she lifts the cover off of him as he stretches on the floor. "I will make you Lunch if you get up now."

"Now your talking sis," Andy replies.

 

A few minutes later Andy peaks his head down around the top of the stairs.

" It's all clear Andy," Lexi says as she is working in the kitchen.

"Did you make breakfast too?" Andy asks as he heads down the stairs sniffing the air. " Where is Aunt Caroline at?"

I don't know she wasn't here when I came down. Doesn't look like her bed was even slept in." Lexi replied as she puts some bread down in a sack.

I still say use Unity, otherwise my contributions to the project will be minimal, as most of the writing and work I do otherwise will be to my other project.

 

Other than that note, I'd like to see more people posting on this as it could become the first of GDU community developed games that succeed in being finished.

I can help with story development and editing, but with my other project thats all I'm really able to offer.

 

I have to say that having 'Startsville' as the major contender for the starting place is hillarious. I love that you put my joke suggestion down and that it's currently winning with 3 points.

I'm never one forwriting stories, but I can easily read them.

 

Is the end location going to be named Endsville by any chance too? Startsville should be ren-named to Buttville from EWJ :D

A few minutes later Andy peaks his head down around the top of the stairs.

" It's all clear Andy," Lexi says as she is working in the kitchen.

Andy's mind was on the food as he came down the stairs and then all of a sudden he slipped and fell.

A loud thud was heard with some kind of mushy sounds too.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!" Andy screeched out,"yuck!"

Lexi turned turned her head away from the food and looked at Andy on the floor and she began to laugh uncontrolably.

"Ewwwwww!" she yelled out as she laughed even harder, that smells horrible.

Andy started trying to get up. :Arent you gonna help as he tried to wife off his face some, he asked Lexi.

"No way!" she replied quickly, "that smells bad enough from over here". What the heck is that stinky smell? Did your pet leave you a present.

Yeah, who? It is the "GDU Community" project, right? And also, this is in the wrong forum. But the site ought not to endorse such a project at this stage. There's no team and no storyline, and it's a bad look for us to call it the community project until more progress has made. Well actually, all it really needs is to be stable.

It was the community project because he was asking the community about how the game should progress. Remember the huge list of polls he had.

Yeah I know. My point was merely the title, making it sound like it's a project organized by the site, rather than a member on the site. Anyone can get all the help they want from the community for their projects.

 

I'm quite against community projects given their past success here. http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/forum/86-archive/ I much prefer a stable existing project becoming an existing project. Making polls is one way to do it, but I'm not sure there's much value in it. You'll end up with the most popular systems (not so unique) that may be incoherent because they have been randomly chosen from votes. To me a community project is built by community members. But that's just my opinion, I'm just the web master these days :ehh:
