A few tiny suggestions

my first suggestion is for us to just copy paste images to the forum(if possible i mean) you know to save time and energy, instead of having it posted in image shack every time your gonna post an image

the second one is more smileys for the chat room it just seem to few to express what others need to express

my last one is put a level sytem like the ones in other forums

I think there are plenty of emoticons in the chat, if there's an emotion to complex to display with just one use two or three, make it a compound emoticon.

 

I think having quick load image hosting on here would be a great idea, I've been using imgur to upload my images and it just feels stupid to me to upload them in one place just to post them somewhere else.

 

I don't care much for the level system idea, we already have one sort of the member titles for number of posts, like you have the 'Loyal Member' title. On the topic of level system, I think that a rating system for posts would be nice if there is a post we like we get a chance to rate it up or down.

Yeah we had this system before, and it just makes things really complicated by having mulitple usergroups for effectively the same class of members. So if I wanted to alter a permission, i have to do it for each usergroup, which is both troublesome and there's a risk I'll miss something, and exclude a group of members from something, etc.

I started development on this today. It's coming along. Right now it features a pretty cool uploader which I spent most of the time so far integrating into the system, but its well worth it as I plan to use this exact uploader for all uploads outside forums.

 

It's main features are ajax uploading available on any page and a manager for uploading, deleting and getting a url, for each upload.

 

I'm not when it will be ready, because I can't upload files for a while until I get some design stuff sorted. I've started a redesign and lots of updates to lots of things, but I'll try get it up asap.

That's the actual manager, but you will be able to upload without ever leaving the page you're on, eg in the middle of writing a topic, a grab your URL

 

 

This will be ready to go live soon, but it won't be live for some time because I'd have to upload all the changes I've done on the development site, and that would severely mess up the forums :P It's complicated. What's going to happen is a new version of the forum is going to come out and I'm going to wail until then to work on some kind of redesign. After that's complete I'll be able to upload changes much more often.

I'm suggesting an sound off feature in chat. Personally I don't always like hearing beeping noises when I am looking at chat.

Another suggestion, chat status. There's the space to the right of the send button in chat and that would be the perfect place for a status drop box, letting us change our status between available, away, or busy, and if someone has gone so long without sending a message maybe setting them to idle. This would make it easier to tell who is actually talking in chat. There are a lot of people who log on say hi and then never say anything else.

Only other thing I could think of is the red dot telling how many people are in chat, maybe hovering over it brings up a list of people in chat and there status.

It's actually fully functional as of last night, a few things to do here and there and such as assigning limits per usergroup. I really wana upload it and test :D But it will have to wait.

I like the idea of statuses, I'll see if i can do that. As for seeing who exactly is online, I think I wana keep it anonymous so you have to wonder in there anyway :)
