Copying our Skin

I was looking through this free hosting forum, and saw it had the same skin as us. Now, this skin is available to the public, I didnt exactly make this skin. But I did recolor it.

 

To recolour the skin, I opened up photoshop, and one the image files, and randomly went through and changed the hue etc. to get this colour. So the colour of our skin is fairly random, and the chance someone else got the EXACT same colour would be next to none.

 

These didnt actually copy the whole skin, that would take them a long time to do as they would have to save each image, but there header bar is the exact same colour. I know because i opened photoshop and when i put the two together you couldnt tell the colours apart. They are exactly the same.

Any image posted on the Internet, is subject to copyright law. It is considered a published work, so long as you can prove you own the original copy (good luck with that.) However, at the same time, you should be glorified taht someone else wants to use the same thing you created. Simply because it shows you have great taste.

I agree that they shouldn't have used the same image off our site, but sadly, as much as I'd like to argue to say they can't, nowadays, you can't keep any images to yourself anymore...someone, somewhere, will always try to steal your images, no matter what you do...sadly...

I have no problem with it. I think its great! Someone copied this site. Means it must be a good one right? Its sorta like a compliment. Mike, remember when RMXPU took our forums markers?

 

Also, Shadow Destiny uses are moderator icon. I know this because i also recoloured this myself.
