DoomJosse 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2013 Looks like I'm late to the party. Hello! Not exactly sure what to state here, but I'll keep it short. I joined this forum because while I was searching for Calling Common Events through script, I found it here! I was later attracted by the other sub-forums and helpful tips/resources. But the first actual post I read, was a farewell from some one, which leads me to this question: What exactly, is RMU and GMU? It seemed like a huge deal when I read about it. Anyways, I signed up in hopes to better my skills with RPG Maker XP, and create some cool games in my spare time to share with some friends (And probably newly made ones)! I started using RPG Maker XP back in 2008, and some how abandoned it. Now, I've gotten myself into it again, and have started a new project. The only thing that I despise, is being generic. GDU (Game Dev Unlimited) was the old name for the site (you can see in the URL) where Marked the owner tried to branch out and include all facets of game making. Unfortunately we didn't have many people experienced at anything other than RPG Maker. Eventually we saw a drop in visits, so Marked made a decision to focus on RPG Maker instead. Some people took it worse than others, I myself was one who was all for broadening the site, but i understand why he did it and if the day comes where we have more people who can use other programs I'm sure he'd add forums for support. As I put it in the other topic, die now or die slower. I chose die slower. I'd love for someone to challenge me on my reasoning and tell me I'm wrong. I would really love for someone to tell me all the right moves that need to made... Of course I want to expand from RPG Maker. Enterbrain suck balls. But the communities that use their programs are fun and encourage to build games, so that's what we're gona do. The site is built for expansion, when it's ready.
