Here's what Google web master dude matt cutts said regarding these shutdowns I'm particularly gona miss my iGoogle. Cool right? Though when iGoogle shutsdown I can always just replicate it. Polraudio 122 Report post Posted March 19, 2013 Only 3 i would hate if they ever shut down would be Gmail,Translate and Maps. I dont even remember half of those products. Btw your link is doubled. http://www.slate.com/articles/technology/map_of_the_week/2013/03/google_reader_joins_graveyard_of_dead_google_products.html
Marked 197 Report post Posted March 19, 2013 Ah thanks, fixed that up. I don't think they'll ever get rid of any of those, they'll used far too much. I can see a competitor to translate coming alone. Certainly not the maps... who else can afford to images of all the streets in the world O.o and them compile all that data, blur out stuff, etc. It's pretty amazing really. dolarmak 23 Report post Posted March 19, 2013 Yeah Pol, i don't think you'll have to worry about those features getting closed. lol right now I think 3/4 of the US and Canada use them on a daily basis. Well since i didn't use any of those products it doesn't really bother me, but if they got rid of something i like i guess i would be. Hopefully that won't happen.
