Zain 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 Well hello there! I just finished a game called 'Ib' (still don't know how to pronounce it though) and I really liked it, I just thought of the idea of making a game myself, I have experience In making games... just not in RPGMaker, I don't know which one to use, maybe a one that wouldn't be to hard for a noob like me? I saw this forum when I wanted to create my sprites, I saw this great site called 'Loose Leaf' I found out about it from someone on this site. I explored more and it has various rescourses for noobs! So I shall be starting the game and hopefully I'm not too annoying.
dolarmak 23 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 Welcome to the forums Zain. We'll help in any way we can :) I would suggest RMXP simply because I like it over VXA, but it's a personal choice. You can try both trial versions since they give you 30 days, see which one you like better.
Marked 197 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 Welcome to RMU  VX Ace is the easier engine, but that's not to say XP is hard. Harder doesn't mean hard. Hopefully you can gauge a comparison here http://www.gdunlimited.net/engines/rpg-maker-vx-ace http://www.gdunlimited.net/engines/rpg-maker-xp
Leon 55 Report post Posted April 3, 2013 Hi Zain! As for a maker to use, it depends on how much detail and work you want to put into it. ACE is easy to use, but I find XP to be more... customizable. Just takes more work with XP
