I don't know if anyone here remembers me (though I'm seeing some familiar faces across the tight-knit RPG Maker community), but I remember this forum looking like just about any other IP board. I was here back in 2007 (according to my profile, I'm highly forgetful), and I remember this place being one of the first RPG Maker Communities I was active in.

 

Now 6 years later... Holy crap. This site looks TOTALLY AWESOME! x__x

 

So yeah, I think you can consider me "back." :D

 

 

For those who don't know me, I'm a recent college graduate who specializes in art and animation. I've used RPG Maker for over 7 years, starting with XP all the way to Ace right now. It still remains as my go-to for making homebrew video games. I generally love art, drawing, playing video games and giving critique to developers. My favorite games are League of Legends, Megaman, and Sonic the Hedgehog.

 

Below I'll detail my current expertise and weaknesses, if you care:

 

I am good with:

+ Pixel Art

+ Concept Art

+ Eventing

 

I am weak with:

- RGSS Scripting

- Landscape/Environmental art

- Staying organized  :P

Welcome back Ratty524 :) I remember you, very well. I saw you a lot at other RM communities back in those days too. A lot has happened here. Back in those days we were your generic IP Board and joomla website. Since then I've taught myself a bit of web development. The integration between the forum and the rest of the site is probably the best you'll see on the net in terms of design (still sorting out a few functionality bugs though :P ).
I'm slowly turning the site into a real game dev website, starting with the content sections (resources, scripts, tutorials). Next up are feedback sections, such as a proper games section.

 

Anyway, great to see an old face return :thumbsup:

I've actually never posted, and to be honest I don't remember ever joining. O_o But my username and password worked on the first try, so I must have joined for some reason. :P Even still, I do like this layout. I remember IP boards and I must say, this is loads better. I can't promise I'll be as active here (I've been on the VX Ace forums and RPG Maker Web forums, though) but now that I have an email with the URL in my inbox, I can remember to show up occasionally. :P

I am pretty okay with eventing, and I do pretty good on story writing. But resources and scripting are my weak point. I've been sticking with the RTP for the most part. I figure if it's there, might as well use it. No shame in making a game with RTP, right?

Using the RTP is fine, but it makes your game's potential very limited.

I'm right there with you Dark Messiah. I don't remember joining but here I am, true username and all. Same thing happened with RMN, I don't remember signing up (apparently the same day I signed up on this one) I guess I just never pulled the posting trigger on either site.

 

I don't think anybody knows me here, though I did have a game at Creation Asylum back in 2008 called Ballad of the Wind, and I'm currently working on "You Are Not The Hero!". The site does look great, hopefully it'll liven up!

Ratty, good to see another pixil artist on the site. I myself haven't posted much art here mostly cause I'm too busy with school and other projects, but it's nice to see some one else who can do it.
