hay_ley 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2013 Hello everyone! I'm currently working on some plans for a game. I have a good start I think. Please let me know if you're interested.. The setting of the game is Ancient Maya/Aztec (thus my picture), and you can choose to be a male or female. Your role would be to heal the creatures and people of a plague called "Thrash" that is afflicting almost everything. The catch is that when you're battling and "healing" the creatures.. they become more powerful. I am interested in someone who would like to develop a deviant from the normal battle system to accomadate my idea. I think a "threshold" type bar is needed, so you know if you should heal or kill the afflicted being. Does this project sound interesting to anyone? I would love to collaborate with someone passionate about Maya and Aztec culture and mythology. It would be cool to incorporate multiple myths into the storyline. So far I have it starting out where you wake up in a community shelter with amnesia. The shelter's owner found you in the forest almost to "full Thrash" and saved you just in time with an antidote. The antidote is rare though, so you are now in debt to the shelter and the first quest will be to find a way to gather enough money to pay them back (even though they insist they don't expect you to). Overall, I like the idea.. but I am VERY OPEN to criticisms. Let me know if you're interested in working with me. -Hayley
dolarmak 23 Report post Posted August 6, 2013 Hi there Hayley, welcome to the forum. Now the intro thread isn't really the place for recruitment, we have a special forum for that. But before you post there we've had a lot of debate on this very subject, new people with recruitment posts. You might want to read it http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/topic/9785-article-why-will-no-one-join-me/ good luck with your project.
Saltome 16 Report post Posted August 7, 2013 Haha, Mak you are horrible. That crude attitude makes even me not wanna stay.Anyway, hi Hayley. It's nice to greet a new member to the community. And lesson number one, be careful around me. I'm the local pervert around here, not that I'm any more perverted than everybody else, I'm just more open about it.Your game sounds like a nice break from the usual slash and bash style of games. Especially with all the zombie apocalypse addicts around here. And there aren't many games that expose the native american culture, I'd like to see more of it.But it's not gonna be easy for you to find reliable help. Your best option is to stick around and get familiar with the community. Brace yourself, it's gonna be a long and bumpy ride, and if you stick around we are gonna be your support. But most importantly, keep working on your game and eventually someone will hop on board. Now tell me about yourself. What are you like? What do you like or dislike? What's good and what's bad about you? How much experience do you have making games, by yourself or with other people. What are you good at and what are you bad at? Bob423 52 Report post Posted August 7, 2013 Oh come on sal, don't start this again. We all know you misundertood what he wrote and his intentions. Anyway...enough of that, this isn't an arguement thread... Hi Hayley! Welcome to RMU! I personally find it pretty easy to get help around here. We're all friendly (well most of us) and I personally hate horror type games. and I think Dolarmak wanted say... It's best to only get help when you know you need it and do as much as you can by yourself. If you show you can be independant and are determined, more people are likely to join your team...weird, I know :\ And don't let one or two people's additudes get to you. We're mostly all nice people, and relativally welcoming to new members, unlike some forums I've been on where they're very difficult to please and simply critisize things that aren't as good as they want them to be. Polraudio 122 Report post Posted August 7, 2013 Welcome to RMU hay_ley :) . Your project sounds very interesting. I would suggest you get the core of your game started before recruiting people. The more info you can provide the more people will be willing to join you. It also helps to show off other projects or stuff you have made so people can see that you will be as dedicated as they will be to the project. If its your first project i would suggest trying to do as much as you can yourself like bob said so you can learn and will be a better leader when you do work with others. I would suggest checking out the topics in these sections to give you an idea on what to have before recruiting people. http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/forum/18-user-submitted-games/ If you need anything at all don't be afraid to post. We got lots of talented people who will help you go in the right direction  .
Moonpearl 32 Report post Posted August 7, 2013 Hello Hayley, Your pitch did catch my attention. I'm confident I can script whatever battle system you need but we should discuss the details thoroughly before I get committed to anything. You can visit my profile for my Skype address - also feel free to take a look at my blog to get an idea of what I can do. Cheers!
phionabrie 7 Report post Posted August 7, 2013 We are all friendly (well most of us) We're mostly all nice people Some of us are too insane to be considered nice and friendly, but they keep us around for the entertainment factor... or as future victims for their nefarious plots... or...
