Polraudio 122 Report post Posted August 27, 2013 You posted this in the completely wrong section. Since this looks like a "im back" topic im going to move it to Introductions and Farewells. So welcome back.
Saltome 16 Report post Posted August 27, 2013 What coincidence... now it's time for me to go to sleep. Not that I'm gonna do it. And no Pol, I haven't gone anywhere. This is just a random topic for random chat, as shocking that might be, coming from me. And I think the general section was the perfect place for it.
Polraudio 122 Report post Posted August 27, 2013 It should have went in the cafe section. you put it in the rmxp section lol. moved to the correct section.
Saltome 16 Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Sorry, I guess I wasn't paying attention. So, what's up?
Polraudio 122 Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Nothing to much. Mainly focused on school right now since its started. I have an hour walk into town to get to class everyday. Not bad walking there in the morning but when i get out at 2pm its so hot outside and a drip sweat like crazy on the way home. But its all good for me cause im not very skinny(220 pounds, should be 180).
dolarmak 23 Report post Posted August 28, 2013 Hey, I'm going good too. School starts in 1 week for me, and since I've been out of school for over 10 years i'm a little nervous lol.
Saltome 16 Report post Posted August 28, 2013 Hmm, I feel sorry for you people. :P Having to go to school and stuff... Man, I hate school, it's just a big scam. They take your money so you can sit in a cramped room from 9 to 5 with a random guy reading irrelevant facts from a schoolbook completely oblivious to the class. dolarmak 23 Report post Posted August 28, 2013 Hmm, I feel sorry for you people. :P Having to go to school and stuff... Man, I hate school, it's just a big scam. They take your money so you can sit in a cramped room from 9 to 5 with a random guy reading irrelevant facts from a schoolbook completely oblivious to the class. mine is a technical college, so i'm learning how to build electronics, there is a bit of book stuff but a lot of it is hands on building. While I agree that high school is mostly pointless, there is much you can learn in college and university that is not only interesting, but also useful. Also most people can't just learn things on their own without any guidance, where as these programs offer a path that goes from a-z in a generally decent order. After you understand the basics and principals of the subject then you can delve deeper by yourself.
phionabrie 7 Report post Posted August 28, 2013 College is rarely a 9-5 thing. And most of the stuff you learn (except generals) is totally relevant and interesting. Labs are the best: you get to mix and prod and test stuff.
Saltome 16 Report post Posted August 29, 2013 Hmm I guess hating on school isn't cool any more. :D Still I can't say they teach you useful information. How is History of tourism gonna help me be a better tour guide, or computer science for that matter. It doesn't really apply to doing the work you will be doing. I don't really need guidance, but I take my sweet time and nobody in college or out of it is gonna wait for you, that's why I'm there to be taught. And what pisses me off the most... I already have the basics, if I didn't I wouldn't be learning that, and they wouldn't accept me anyway, why the hell should I be paying them to teach myself? That's just not a fair deal in my opinion. And I have to say, lectures are too dragged out, they repeat the same things over and over for an hour. And if you are confused about the topic you still won't understand it at the end of the lecture. I learn in chat faster than I've learned at school, that doesn't bode well for their system. you get to mix and prod and test stuff. I like that scientific terminology you used there. :P And yeah, college isn't really 9-5 but having 3 lessons a day 4 hours apart doesn't really make it any better. Marked 197 Report post Posted August 29, 2013 Salty you're absolutely correct! However, there's a point; you do the work, get your grades, and boom you get a shiny certificate that says you're a whole bunch better than all the n00bs without one. I've never thought the primary purpose of my tertiary education was education, its about being employment and securing your future career. But of course, I'm just pretty good at stuff. I got like a 178 in the LSATS. Lol jk I got that from suits we don't have such silly things as that.
zahraa 26 Report post Posted August 29, 2013 I don't know about collage but school is just sh**,In my opinion :) I wish I could never go back to school again...
Polraudio 122 Report post Posted August 29, 2013 College is useful for the degree. Im just in it for the degree. Most of the stuff i already know but there's some stuff you cant learn without going to college. Business management, the financial stuff for business. Accounting is a big part of business you should go to college if you like working with numbers. College is mainly good for people going into the medical and business field. The tech field not so much since we are almost part nerd now days or know someone who can teach us. Once i graduate i will have a Business degree and a Tech Pro degree. And lets not forget that people who have a degree always get paid more and tend to do better money wise in the end.
Saltome 16 Report post Posted August 30, 2013 I'm not afraid for the future of my career, I'm worried about my present. Not much use having a diploma when there isn't enough work to accommodate educated people. Most people don't really benefit from their diploma, so it's just a big waste of time and money, if they can even graduate. Zahraa you should be happy to go to school. After school ends real life swats you in the face with a hammer. :P Cause nobody wants to invest the time to teach you about life but expect you to know more than them. And Pol, you can learn anything on your own, it's a matter of practice. And college doesn't really put you in the right situation to learn the things you need. As far as payment goes, the better work you do the more you will get paid. Bottom line is, instead of wasting all that time and money in the educational system, start a business. You will learn more, you will get a head start and you will boost the economy. That does create a bit of an oversaturation of the market, but it compensates for the fact that most companies are incapable of reaching the growth potential of the economy. And that creates it's own problems, but I digress. As far as your person is concerned you get ahead faster and that let's you get closer to your goals, whatever they might be. It's a shame not everybody can afford the investment, but if you can, do it.
phionabrie 7 Report post Posted August 31, 2013 Most people don't really benefit from their diploma, so it's just a big waste of time and money, if they can even graduate. you can learn anything on your own, it's a matter of practice. So you would be just as satisfied having an operation done on you by a self taught surgeon as opposed to one who'd gone to medical school? While there are many things you could learn on your own, that doesn't mean it would always be the best option for you or the people you work for. And while many good things can be learned by trial and error, sometimes the risks you would take aren't worth it when someone else has already proven a certain action to be a mistake. Personally, while I agree that some majors are ridiculous and some classes beyond pointless, there are still definite advantages to furthering education. And depending on what the course of study is, a community college may be just as good or better a place to learn it than some of the most prestigious schools. As much as I hated most of my classes in K-12, I absolutely appreciate having learned from it.
Marked 197 Report post Posted August 31, 2013 Lol. This conversation about the value of education is so pointless. STAHP. I fixed my car today. Crashed into someone, messed up the front. All in the same week as my diagnosis. Lolllll. Btw Happy bday salty.
zahraa 26 Report post Posted August 31, 2013 I agree with Marked.Let's change the subject. Yesterday,I bought some nice outfits,Change the wallpaper of my laptop.Go here if you're looking for some fantasy wallpapers: http://wall.alphacoders.com/index.php?s=Fantasy&su=angel Today,I don't have any plan,I just have to work hard on my game. Really? Is It Saltome's birthday?Happy birthday to you! *Blowing out the candles before you do* :P I want a birthday party too. :ehh:
Saltome 16 Report post Posted August 31, 2013 Yes I would be perfectly satisfied having an operation done on me by someone who has taught themselves how it's done, over someone who paid for a piece of paper. As a matter of fact someone freshly out of school is more dangerous than someone who has actual experience. Being self taught doesn't mean you are less knowledgeable, it makes you more experienced. And it makes your knowledge better suited for the task at hand. And you shouldn't forget that not having a diploma doesn't mean you are rediscovering fire, it means that you are able to learn the things that will be practical for your future, not random stuff you will never really use. The word "mistake" is very arbitrary. There are no mistakes, just actions and consequences. The word mistake is used when a certain action causes undesired behavior, and using it only stops people from solving the problem which prevents them from exploring a whole realm of possibilities. You can learn on our own everything a school will teach you and more, if you need to. And hasn't it ever occurred to you that the person who determined something is a mistake could have been wrong? Or at the very least having a different understanding of right and wrong from you? Sure there are advantages to studying at school, but there are better ways, which ultimately makes it a waste of time. Mark, sure there is a point. Discussion is a driving force of change in any entity. And a lot of change is in order. And how many times do you plan to congratulate me for my birthday? You sure are having a lucky week tho, I must give you that much. :P Imagine that, a girl buying new clothes, eh?.. Anything sexy? Yes it really is my birthday, thanks. ...And good job on blowing out MY candles! But I guess it's to be expected of a girl to be good at blowing... Don't worry, I'm pretty sure you have a birthday sometime during the year too. You can celebrate it when it comes around. :P
zahraa 26 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 So,Are you looking for something sexy, huh? Then you can Google it,rude boy! :P Also,be careful,Girls are good at many things else that you can't even think about...

phionabrie 7 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 Salty, not all girls have the means/opportunity to go shopping all the time (contrary to popular television) and it can be kind of hurtful when people assume it's just another day at the mall. Also, not every girl feels comfortable being objectified by the assumption that she went out and got sexy clothes. Sometimes it's nice to just get something cute or cool or pretty, or even just plain new. Oh, and belated Happy Birthday!! ~hangs head shamefully~ I should've said that already.... Phionabrie,Thanks for your comment,But what you mentioned is not my problem,I went shopping today,(I bought shoes,They're soooo cute  ) and I can go shopping whenever I want but you're right, many girls can't go shopping all the time... Saltome,I think I should explain more for you. Imagine that, a girl buying new clothes, eh?.. Anything sexy? Well,What's wrong with a girl buying new clothes?I just feel like you hadn't a "very good" purpose by saying this. Yes it really is my birthday, thanks. ...And good job on blowing out MY candles! But I guess it's to be expected of a girl to be good at blowing... I just wanted to tell you girls are good at everything. After all,I think you should be more careful when you're talking with a girl, they can be so touchy. It's my opinion,Of course many people have different views. Saltome 16 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 Phiona You don't have to worry about my birthday. This is a forum and the day only has 24 hours after all. Zahraa I never said it was wrong, it's just so typical for a girl, it's nice that something so small can make you happy. But I must admit I tend to be very utilitarian, so I don't really like to buy fancy things, as long as it suits my need it's good enough. And I never said that girls aren't good at anything, so why do you feel the need to correct me? :D I spend a lot of time around girls and I know how they can be, but just because they want to get the wrong idea, doesn't mean I'm obligated to pamper them. And you might be surprised at how touchy guys can be, so it's not really all that different.
phionabrie 7 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 After supervising boys and girls at work, I've come to the conclusion that boys are every bit as dramatic as girls.
