It's actually not new. It's been around since before I joined. It's just returned.

Looks like it still needs a bit of work though, of course.

Ok, we don't like the mascot then.

 

2 new updates:

-the Arcade is back with all previous scores and data, etc.

-New points system

 

Since breaking the previous forum integration, we can use forum mods with less risk of screwing up. The points system is new system and its a full out shop with lottery, banks, stocks, donations etc. It's a big system, however I've disabled most of it. My idea of points system is to reflect a members contribution, therefore no interest from banks, random lottery prizes, or even points for winning arcade games (I can actually do that). I have however left open a donation system so that members who get helped can donate their points. That's why you've got the thing beside your rep.

 

If we keep the donation system pure in this way we can open up things such as purchasing advertising space for your games with points, and other things considered valuable, perhaps subscriptions (and perhaps that would be the only method of purchasing a subscription).

 

You can now see your points below your avatar (which is linkable)

 

Oh, I almost forgot. All the points currently are based on every single post ever made by you on the site. The points were recalculated last night. Points vary per topic, reply, reply on someone else's topic and varies per forum. Eg replying to someone elses support topic gets you some decent points. Thus, the points directly reflect contribution.

Ah yeah. Actually I have quite a lot of these. The trouble is they're too big and we had problems implementing them in the chat in animated form because they made the page lag unbearably. But in the emo pop-up this software has... it may just work to have the gifs, we'll have to test it out.

Damn #6, right behind Bob. Yo marked, are we getting points for submissions also right (artwork, scripts, games, etc)? Well nice that you brought this back, hopefully this will help in bringing in more members again. Because I've seen a couple of low points this year. We need to find more coders then just me and Moonpearl as we can tell by now that kell isn't coming back. Also more mappers as Kirishi left.

I'm kind of a mapper, I'm just not as good as Kevin or Kiri. :(

And Pol winning that contest was a fluke. I'm sure he'll agree since he didn't want to win in the first place.

I am particularly disappointed about Kell... we had all these staff members jump ship around the same time, it really hurt our cause.

 

As you'll notice, I'm still not an admin :P However, development on the site shall continue nonetheless. I wanted to find a few staff members or passionate people to take over the admin role and take action in terms of running it, but of course no such person exists. We have copious amounts of traffic coming here and not enough staying. But this site will be ok. I feel compelled to complete my original GDU concept. On top of that, so long as you guys are around the forum will survive. I do believe it will soon prosper, even despite my ongoing grudges with certain organizations. We're down on man power at the moment, but just for the moment.

 

Also, did anyone notice my updates to the forum design? It's way better. Still work to do.
