Hi there people
As you know I am blasting through the website updating the UI. As part of that, the games section has had quite a big make over, and part of that is a new direction.
When I first wrote the games section, the aim was to create a system that was really flexible in terms of layout and how the content was displayed on the page. While those features are great, it makes the system complicated both from a programming perspective and a user perspective as well.
As part of the redesign, I have pulled back a lot of these customisation features and game pages are now more standardised to a single layout – which hopefully you like. Instead of layout customisations, I want the new focus to be on interactivity and contentm, rather than a one-off description of the game. For example, the first page is now "news" (which is of course was previously called Blogs).
More interactivity features to come! But that will be after the UI upgrade, of course…

I believe that the first page (front page or the landing page) should be the "Game About" page. This is because when someone visiting the game page, what they want is the information on "what game is this?", not on "what news this game has", unless the visitor is a recurring visitor, which is less likely (that most of them will be a recurring visitor), since the aim of the game page is to introduce the project at first, and gather audience along the way.
I think you could combine the news page along with the game about page, like the one in steam. The front page consist of the information of the game, and there's several (2 IIRC) recent news of the game on top of the page.

Magey, thank you for your feedback. At times I don't get too many suggestions, so it's nice to have a contribution. I've discused this with 'da boys in discord, and indeed I have reversed this so that the "About" detail page is the default page.
The games section uses the old BBCode editor, and not this nice WYSIWIG one that we have for comments + refinery. I intend to make them all consitent across the whole site, and add some really nice styles so you guys can create some nice looking content on those "about" pages.

I still want GDU Premium so I can customize my game page personally.
