Cascade: Early Development and Trailer
Development Blog Entry #1
Since my two favorite and recent projects, Tsurugi's Hold and Assassins' Fury, have been held back a bit, I decided to combine both features of each game into one main game. Things such as maps and scripts have been imported into Cascade which gives it more of a unique feel. Unlike both of these games, the gameplay in Cascade will be linear. No free roaming, buying equipment or saving. The player will find everything he/she needs on the field if they look hard enough. :shifty: The game also has an autosave feature so the player does not have to worry about saving every 5 seconds.
As for the trailer contest, I'm entering Cascade in it. I admit that I'm cheating quite a bit by making the maps and filming just those maps which might not be in the game but everything is fair in love and war. Since I have school tomorrow I'll finish the maps tonight and film the gameplay in school.
I took some screenshots of Cascade's title, HUD, and menu which took me all day to complete. I made the unselected choices in the title transparent and the marking on Cascade's face transparent too. I bet no one has seen anything like that yet.
I'm not going to spoil everything for you guys so you'll have to wait for the trailer and demo.
Now back to my mapping. :P
Trailer can be found here.
NOTE that it's just a slideshow for now. The gameplay will be added tomorrow.
