While I can appreciate that view, I don't necessarily agree with it. Having run and developed several communities over the last 5 years or so, my experience has shown me that just because official support comes along for something related towards your community, enterbrain's community for this scenario, doesn't mean that a third-party community can't still thrive and grow so long as someone passionate is at the reigns. Everyone suffers from burnout, however, so it's unfair for anyone to come in and point fingers or argue. I'm just saying that regardless of my interest in VX Ace, I wouldn't go running off to enterbrains community and totally drop this one. Communities are about the community, not about the content.

Well.. hello! It's been quite a long time since I was last on these forums. Everytime I tried to sit down and commit time to a game or some other sort of creative project, I seemed to contract a mild case of ADD and walk away after a short period of time. Today I stumbled across the Steam sale for RPG Maker VX Ace. I recall VX not being that big of a hit on launch, but apparently VX Ace has allayed most people's concerns, from my brief reading. So I picked it up, and will be fiddling around on it. God, I haven't touched Ruby in years. Let's see if I can get back into the swing of things. For now though, I'll just be looking forward to hanging out around here and seeing if I recognize any old faces; and how many I know from the z11 invision powerboard days!

They need to hurry up and, a bit offtopic, get Eldest and Brisingr out =/

For that, you are very, very smart. The built-in browser function in VB sends passwords as stings *Plain Text* so if someone was packet sniffing you, or watching the line, they could very, very easily grab your password, or the person writing the application could easily record it to a .txt file. Not saying the OP would, just saying =) Anyway, congrats on your first VB application, it's a good milestone. VB is rather easy to learn, but it is also rather powerful, and lightweight. VB.NET is something you might want to look for, less flexible, but more powerful.

Book Marked. Looking forward to your progress. I can sprite a little, I have a friend that is a whiz with MIDI's however, I'll see if he's interested in getting on board with you.

Oh my. Not a game I ever pictured being reinvented into a movie. I still remember sitting around on my PS1 and playing Spyro.. Lol. I might have to go find that bad boy again sometime. =)

Thanks everyone =D

Alright, I don't know how many of you remember me, probably not a lot. I only remember a select few people such as Marked, Kiraashi, Wyzrd, and Polraudio. I am hopefully back for a while, I put RPG XP development on the back burner for a bit, but suddenly got a "second wind" if you will. I hope it lasts, but as is always with our communities, our minds are riddled with various shiny objects willing to distract us at a moments notice. Consider this my return post, and I hope to inquire about that writing/teaching position once again =)

Lol. I actually have started a story http://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/1602068.

I used to be on CA, although I remember hardly anyone from there. Welcome to RMXPU! Glad to have you aboard.

Transformers 1 for Xbox 360

Before we try and figure out anything, we need to know 2 things. A) Are you using a Legit copy of RPG XP, because Postality knights or w/e has a lot of problems with scripts B) are you using the SDK?

I am new here as well, but I absolutely love this community. Welcome back, I suck at mapping, so can't wait to read some of those tut's =p

-
The maps are looking pretty good so far, although I would say you might want to try and reword your description a bit, I had to read through it a few times to get it.

You could do it so that when you ended a chapter, you could call this script: $game_party.mission[0] = 1 With the [0] being the ID of your mission, inside of an event, right before a cutscene, or immediately after.
-
I actually just redownloaded the game like a few hours ago. =/. I only have the original though, looking into buying the new ones *heads to ebay*
-
The second one should be very easy to find, the first one could be a simple script, and the third one I wouldn't even know where to begin. It would rely entirely on how you use your "battlers". I'll get to looking around for the first 2, and see if I can't write something for your third.

Photoshop CS4 Encountered an Error
Maulth replied to Nisage's topic in Computers, Internet and Tech Talk
The GPU enhancements for CS4 are ONLY for using the 3D portion (so I'm assuming you have extended edition). So if you don't use the 3D in PSCS4, I wouldn't worry about it. But if it still concerns you, visit your manufacturer/vendor website and download the newest driver. -
I think it's just 'S'....

Yeah, definitely credit him for the sprite. Like I said, I couldn't make a sprite if my life depended on it. lol.
-
It was actually a lot easier than you might think, and pretty hard to mess up. All I did was take the original image, and use the burn tool in photoshop. Took like 4-5 minutes for each frame, so while it was time consuming, it wasn't necesarrily hard, and if you got a color too dark (which wasn't really possible in this case, was it?) then you could just go back in the history pallet. Pretty simple stuff. Oh btw. I've never made a sprite either. I suck at drawing. I can script a little, but not a whole lot.
