  1. I won't let this fabulous topic go down to the bottom of the barrel. Drago, I see that you've made some concept art type of drawing. Are you doing something here? Anyway I'm quite impressed with the latest art here. (Day 40) If you keep doing these type of drawings I maybe will have a small talk about 'concept art' for my project here. Keep up the good work. Oh and clean some lines will ya?
  2. Mark you should make a card. C'mon you can make a monster/magic/trap card. If you want you can edit your card I made. Yu-gi-oh's rules has changed a lot since the Anime started.
  3. GDU is growing a lot more. So i decided to make a small guide for new developers who want to start doing games without having too many newcomer errors. besides we are moving on to more powerful engines.

  4. This guide was created for people who are new into game developing. Welcome to Game Development Unlimited, a site where you can learn and show you game projects. This guide is especially for beginners who want some basic tips for game developing/design from more experianced game developers. If you are a beginner then you may want to keep reading this small beginner guide. Now if you already have a game engine, lets dive right into it. ~ Lesson one - Preparation One basic error with new developers is creating a game without a sense of direction. Games is an art, and art always takes it's time. Before you create art, You will need an idea to begin with. try to inspire yourself with something, and It's easy to do so too! You can inspire yourself by reading a good book you like, or by watching a movie that you really enjoyed a lot. You can even get your inspiration from your favorite games you play! Just bare in mind that you will need to be decisive on what you want to base your game on. Otherwise you will have a problem with the game's direction. Games will always have a theme/genre to being with. Let's look at some games that you may have played in the past. The Legend of Zelda series. (Action/Fantasy/RPG) This game series has a mid-evil theme. Call of Duty series. (Action/First Person shooter) This game series had a War World II theme before changing to a modern shooter theme. Grand Theft Auto series. (Action/Third person shooter/Sandbox) This game series is set in the modern world as-well. Resident Evil (Survivor-Horror/Action/Third Person shooter) a game that is set in a post apocalyptic modern setting Your game can be anything you want it to be. It can be a Action/RPG/First Person Shooter/Sandbox game set in a post apocalyptic mid-evil setting. The possibilities are endless. After you've decided on something it's time to conceptualize. But that's all the time i got for today. On the next lesson i will explain how you should conceptualize your game. If you're a game developer that has any kind of experience. leave a tip or post your way of how you start your game! Until next time developers!
  5. Aztec' s were only interested in sacrificing people. They copied the Mayan's numerical system because they were kind of lazy. Just like Bob here. 12
  6. 13 Mayan numbers A dot . Is one Two dots .. Is two Three dots ... Is three Four dots is ...is four A line for five ----- Six is one dot and a line. . -------
  7. . ______ ______ Now I'm using Mayan numbers.
  8. Magic card GDU Veterans Special Summon one GDU veteran from your hand or deck. (Polraudio, Mark, Lizzie S, Emily AnnCoons, Arkbenette, Nisage)
  9. Pol. Just edit the rule of 10 is a check point. (Every ten posts is a checkpoint.) Bob edited Ultim1337's post because he thought that we were cheating. 15
  10. So last night i was thinking about a nice game concept that i think i would love to work on. and will most likely work on Unity. But i can't get too distracted on that just yet. I need to finish some of these projects first before i dig right into it.

people dont care what the game was made in. they only care how its played. famous words i heard from someone a while back

Yup. If there are too many horror games in unity, there are too many horror games. period. I think there are too many horror games anyway everywhere tbh. Even in rpg maker.

dont think of the numbers. think about what you can do different that will make your game stick out and be different.

  11. Bob, seriously I did not even created this post. So much that I cannot edit it. I've told Ultim1337 via PM to do so, It's an essential rule to this game. If you want you can lock and hide this topic so I can make another one. With this specific rule.
  12. Bob, I've been on a whole a lot of forums and this little game is quite old now. The game is simple. Every 10 posts there is a checkpoint admins/moderators have to do their best to not let the community get to a higher number.(unless they want to join and add a number.) Besides it's a game for everyone, there's no real winner at the end. This game was pretty much created to see how United the community is. 11.
