  1. I have vista:( and my computer doesn't really have the specs to run vista and let me run programs that I could if say...i had xp. However, that being said, I dont really hate vista. but i wouldn't mind having a simpler OS. anywho.. external Hard Drive. I was thinking, since I don't want to get rid of vista, just have multiple boots, but with out being on one hard drive, that way i can dedicate a full partrition of a 320gb, maybe even a whole TB of space to windows xp, and let that be my main source of OS Now i havent installed an Windows OS in awhile, so i dont remember the ropes. But if im correct, I belive i can select which hard drive i would like to partrition? and there i can format it to FAT32. On my computer I can boot from external source. Ive already tested this out by booting linux from a 1gb flash drive. If i can boot from a flash drive why cant i boot from a external hard drive with a usb port since my computer can boot from the usb port. Is there a major diference between hard drives? so give me your feed back, thanks in ahead for reading my post
  2. I should have made my title a bit more clear, but you understand:D
  3. Im planning on making a list of free/easy to use game engines. The one im planning on showing is more like a map editor++ There is alot more features than basic map editors...well i havent tried any recent map editors, but good none the less... Its called the retribution game engine. Its a FPS engine. THe grapics are still stuck in the late 90's pc games, but its free and fun to play around with. Ill post a link http://www.apgardner.karoo.net/retrib/ You don't need a massive power house computer to run which is a plus, and most modern computers today should be able to pack quite alot with this game engine. If your intrested in some beta testing try atmosphir. I belive its OpenGL but im not positive. Atmosphir is a program in which you create 3d puzzle games, (don't stop reading, its actually really good) and share them with others users. People can rate them, comment them, etc... It has a few bugs that have really pissed me off, but its still really fun. Idk if its still in closed beta, i took 2 weeks to get invited, you will have to check the website.. Anyways i gota go. Enjoy ill edit later
  4. nope, im using xp. They are slightly too large. just enough took look off. I have some vx harry potter sprites, thanks to (i forgot the user name) for finding them on the web for me. Ill post them when i get a chance
  5. I need some mapping advice. Can some link me a tut for maps. Im working on a city, and I could really do better... also working on an outside map. I've seen really good field maps. and i have no clue on how they do it!
  6. Someone had sent me some harry potter sprites in an old topic of mine. and someone posted them on the resourses section. But they are too large, and dont match with the game. here they are Click the link Below My link so is there any way of resizing them with out messing up the entire template they are supposed to be in. I have photoshop, so resourses are not an issue.. thanks in advance!
  7. Hey Polraudio you should make a tut for that.

  12. Ok, do you know the sorce, so i could put them in the game credits.Im putting everyone who has help me out:D Including you!
  13. Thanks:D Ill check her site out. That happens to be another major factor of the game, that i can forsee being a big curve in making the game. Dont get me wrong, its going to be a fun process. Just long. I would really like to get accurate information. I would need all the Spells, Classes, Teachers, Areas, inculding smaller areas too, I want to have the sandbox feel. And i have put some thought into data transfer. At the current moment, im unsure how I would go about doing this. If you know how, then that might also solve the In game Character Creator that i have in mind. I already have the Character Creator. When I release the beta, i would like the player to be able to utilize this program in game. However the creator would be limited at first. But im going to add more options to the console as i go, but at the main moment im not going to focus on that. Finishing the story and maps are my current prime consern. And agian, if you know how to do the data transfer go ahead and tell me, that would be sweet if i could get that in there:):):)
  14. Wow! those look great. Did you make all those? thanks alot, this saves me alot of time!
  15. I Do have photoshop. Grids, ill check into that, where in photoshop can i access that.
  16. Im having trouble making my own sprites. Mostly due to posistioning the sprites where they need to be with out peices of my sprites being cut off. Is there a program that helps you position your sprites for rpg maker xp? I did come across a forum where it metioned this, it was a custom program from someone there on the forum. I never got a chance to download, unsure if it was a virus or not. thanks in ahead -Brandon
  17. Yea Im also a big fan, however i may not look like him, my last name is Potter:D Yeah As soon as i get some of the maps done ill upload some screenshots. Im currently working on Diagon alley, Even though the tile sets are a little limited it doesnt look too bad, when ever I find or create better tile sets, ill put them in one of the updates. And i would be glad to let you test it. Ill send you some core gameplay demos when they are available. Thanks in ahead -Brandon
  18. Great, It would really help:D Im really excited for this project, and I know others will be to. and thanks:)
  19. So lets say my game is finished, and now I want people to try it out, but I dont want people taking my data and just go in and start editing it. What do I do?
  20. As most of the fans of Harry Potter, we have all been disapointed from the Harry Potter Games. We all yearn for an MMORPG of the Wizarding World. So, this led me to want to create an immersive Harry Potter game. To be honest, I wasn't going to use RPGMK at all. I wanted to go for a 3d world, I have the engine to do it with, but i knew it would not look good. Since this will be the first version of the game. I to release the game year by year, year by year mean, Hogwart's first years, all the way to graduation from hogwarts. Anyways let me go into some detail about what I have in mind. I want the player to be able to create his own character in game. This allows the user to feel more apart of the Harry Potter world. At the moment, i have not added that to thing. When i do the updates, i would like for that to be in one of them. Just need to script it. I plan to add all the classes that you would take if you were going to Hogwarts. All the spells. All the areas around Hogwarts. Such as Diagon Alley, Hogsmead(spelling?) Shrieking Shack. Platform 9&3quaters. Etc..Etc.. So if there is anyway you guys can help me or support in making this game, be what I want it to be, please feel free!:D The main thing I need is sprites with all the house robes on them. From there, I can change the faces acordingly. I know I didnt Post too much information of what I had in mind, but you guys can use your imagination, and tell me about, Im always searching for ideas to help me! As I type this, im going over all the movies. And im working on getting all my books back so I can "study" the Harry Potter series. Thanks- Brandon
