It looks good, but as Polraudio said, try to put a little more detail into your maps. Oh, and your story section is a run on sentence. Overall looks a lot better than my first project, plus I love non-linear gameplay.

Personally, I'm sick of turn-based combat in general. It was fine at first, but by the SNES it was just old.

I use RMxp with wine. It sometimes crashes with direct x audio errors, but only when starting it up, or starting a game for testing.

I ran into the Hero Machine thing a loong time ago.. Here's a 'battler' I made using Factory of Heroes. Don't take it seriously, It's more of an example.

I once lent my Age of Empires 1 to some kid at school. I never got it back because he ended up selling it to another kid for 5 dollars. The first kid gave me a copy of Siege of Avalon in return, but I still hated him. About a year later I ended up accidentally befriending the second kid, and sitting right next to her computer was my AoE. She said I could have it back, but I didn't care at that point because I already had AoE II. Oh, and I had actually borrowed AoE I in the first place. It's pretty funny now that I think about it...
