I'm late to the party, but I have to say Happy Birthday GDU!!! :) How the years have passed, 10 years is a massive achievement and I've seen the site evolve bit by bit over the years. I'll always remember this place and visit now and again lurking, such a great community with some really good members that I'm proud to have met and spoken to when I was active back in the day. Time well spent! I miss game development but my life has moved into a different world now but the love is still here ever so strong, I plan to finish at least some of my game ideas even if it reaches a somewhat playable state, then again you know how I am for not finishing things hehe. Love you GDU/ RMXPUnlimited and everyone in it!!!

Unity. Why not try top-down view rather than first person? You had one go at creating the corridor from 2D to 3D, so it's highly unlikely you'll get it bang on first attempt. It takes test after test to get to your goal. Try making the corridor smaller and narrow to compliment the rmxp picture you showed us, does the floor texture suit the wall textures/ architecture and maybe add a carpet/ rug to compliment the scenery which will add more detail/ interest. Essentially making a 3D environment good is all about layering in every sense and transitioning from 2D to 3D is no easy task ;)

Hey everyone, Has any of you seen video games that incorporate ghosts/ ghouls? Google is obsessed with giving me Ghost in the Shell and CoD: Ghosts, which isn't what I'm after :P So anything related to shooting ghosts, or stealthy invisibility/ cloaking is also a good area for me, first person perspective preferably but can be any type of game. This is mainly for inspiration and to see how those games are made. Thank you all :)

Nice start, liking the plastic bottle :) I've been thinking of doing some basic 3D assets for an RPG top down styled game, but I never get around to doing it. I found it surprisingly straight forward to make the equivalent of an RPG Maker style game in UE4, or Unity, by using some free 3D models and put the camera in top down view; as long as you know how to Vertex Paint and change the shape of the landscape (single plane with many vertices) you have all you need. The only downside is making all the events and stuff yourself.

They've had high number of sales with their $19 per month deal and that's why they've made it free but they're keeping the 5% royalties once your game makes over $3000 per quarter per product. So all is good :) @Pol what's the name? :D

Good to here it guys and as a side note which might be of extreme interest, earlier today an Epic announced that Unreal Engine 4 is now completely FREE! So anyone can go ahead, sign up and download for free, damn!

Does anyone here use it? I'm developing a game on it but I've had to learn everything from scratch, I've never used any Unreal Engine before, and progress is steady. I'm getting to grips with Blueprints and starting to pull off some interesting concepts for games; I've been working on a small tranquil parkour inspired jump game, recreating old maps in superior graphics and developing my own game. Thought it might be nice to share progress with others using UE4, share tips and help one another out.

Sounds good, hope to see a few entries if this actually happens. Who knows, maybe I'll actually get to finish something.

Good to know :) I've been told I look like a spy, a shot from imdb, an actor but not an anime character. I guess that's kinda cool and liking the footwear, looking good man. But those benches in the background, those look worn out!

Quick update, I look young for a 23 year old bloke. So, I know I don't come here much but how's everyone doing?

:D haha thank you, and I don't think much people on here type it wrong. On some games I play online, the ways people attempt to spell my name are insane.... for example: Mafanki, Malanki, manuki, mnak, madkai, madan, mikini, I have a whole list but I think the best has got to be Madonkey however I do like Madkai

I'm sure I put my sig into that :huh2: Oh woopsy, just read your post Marked, yikes! I'll re-add it then

So do others that I've heard pronounce it :P Also another common one is "Mandachi" said Man-datchi or Ma-danchi said quite harsh. Yeah I remember talking to you :) I quite like some of the Persian words for some reason, and the first "A" in Madanchi has a stretched/ outstrung sound is what I tell people, "Maaadanchi" to emphasize my point hahaha.
