  5. so your event looks sort of like this in some way right? autorun is on, the conditions have no self switch in them. make sure that the transfer player command is the last one. sometimes this can be the problem. transfer players sometimes make it so commands like move route, and maybe control switches dont work on that event anymore, if you know what i mean. and your second page should look like this hope the screenshots helped. edit: pol you ninja'd me! w/e we basically said the same thing, mine just has pics lol
  6. screen tearing? can you give a screen shot? btw you came to the right place. :alright: it DOES seem to be a computer problem, but it might be a problem with rmxp. what version of rmxp are you using? (i think there's more than one) did you pay for it?
  7. somewhere in the auto run, turn a switch, or self switch on, then make another page in the event that has the trigger set to action button, and the condition set to whatever switch or self switch you turned on in the previous page. hope that made sense

      @pol: you mean you learned ruby at the same time as rgss >:D

      @bob: learn ruby first, then learn how to use RGSS with ruby. RGSS does nothing on it's own. It requires ruby to interface with its api.

    Typical - Mapping

    im no good with vx, since ive only used it once for a couple days and didnt really like it, but i know a pokemon style map when i see one (its actually better than that, but its close). tbh, it needs work, but you knew that. i would suggest making more paths through the trees, and try to give things not man made lots of variety. even the paths should be a bit crooked. also... ive circled things in red i dont like, and things i do in blue. while i think this block of trees should be cut in half vertically, its also to blocky. imo edges that are more than 3 tiles long are to long. i used to be horrible, i think everyone was at one point. mapping takes practice, and examples to look at. as well as advice. asking for help is the best thing you can do, i regret not doing that myself, but people offered help anyway, luckily. hope this helps, and happy mapping.
  11. oh yea, ive had some problems with that. the only way i can think of to get around that is with eventing. if my hunch is correct, then thats your problem, and can be fixed by, instead of a tile on the 3rd layer, or whatever layer the tile above the wall is on, use an event with the "always on top" check box checked, and the graphic set to the tile that you were using before.
  12. when i saw this i was like "OOH! i know an abs you can use!" then i saw vx...sorry, but ive never heard of an abs for vx. wish i could help. have you been using google? if not i suggest you google "rmvx abs" or something similar at least. oh wait, you want one for vx ace? i doubt you can use vx scripts in ace, but you might as well try. but ace is pretty new, so i doubt you'll be able to find very many scripts for it, let alone an abs.
  13. hm...are you using any scripts? if so, which ones? they might cause some problems with passability. also, try starting a new game, or just make an event that sets through to off for the player.

  15. well there's the beta demo, but im hoping to finish the full demo before christmas. edit: here's the beta demo click here to test. let me know if there are any bugs, or things i should fix.. known issues: -there is an event where 1 character's picture is shown for 2 different characters. (fixed) -equip menu uses the wrong names for equipment types. (fixed) -the cms in general needs a bit of work -some text is cut off in a few scenes (fixed) -when the mayor talks to you, not only is some of the text cut off, but he skips half of a sentence (fixed) -some variable problems that arent an issue in the beta demo because they arent used. (fixed) -another variable problem that causes bob to not change his class when the others do. (fixed) -weird characters on name screen -names dont always change to what you name them

  17. ugh, i feel horible. last night i felt like someone had taken i knife to the inside of my throat. i think my nose caused part of it, but i still feel like crap, and i have like no energy.

  20. that was the most complicated cut scene i've ever made. making this game is like a test. unfortunately, blizz abs forces me to do this. otherwise it would look horible
