  1. It's nothing special, just a generic intro, to either show you how, or for your own, personal use. I don't really know if this is a "traditional" Resource, But I got bored and made this. You can strip it down and re-use it for any other RMXP project. EDIT: For lack of downloads, I'm taking the links down. If you want them put back up, post in this topic.
  2. it's a .jpg, Try making it a 24-bit sav. (.bmp)
  3. Okay, I've played through the game up until the town place thingy... and I have a few notes to share. 1.) In RMXP the designers were idiots and didn't playtest any games and screwed up the text bubbles. When you make any sentence run to far to the right side of the screen, the text dissappears. (Some guy found a way to fix this, but most people just try to stay inside the lines.) It's not anything huge, but it still defers fun from the game. 2.) You made a great tutorial, most people don't really get around to making one, and just assume everyone who's going to download the game, already knows how to use the controls (unless scripted otherwise), HOWEVER, You made most of the events explaining the controls and etc, WAY TO CLOSE to each other. It started to annoy me after the fifth or sixth one. (Like they did in the old FF games where you'd encounter an enemy every 2 steps.) 3.) In the tutorial, there isn't any background music. It's not a huge flaw, but something just to make noise would've been nice. Especially since you're not using voices. 4.) Uh, I don't really like sugar-coating things, so I'm just going to say it. The tutorial mapping was awful. To many repeated tiles and not enough layering. I sugest making the map bigger, and allowing the player to roam around a bit more. 5.) While explaining how items are bought, you should entice the player to buy the items, if I haddn't thought about it before, I probably would've just exited without buying anything. Especially since the next pannel explains how to equip the items. 6.) (Sidenote) What script did you use to show what area you were in? (E.G.: When it said Tutorial in the upper-right corner of the screen) I want it. :3 7.) In the beginning forest area, pay attention to passability. The second encounter with ghosts can be avoided by simply walking around the event. (I'm not sure how many other's I passed) 8.) XD Quetzalcoatl. Nice. 9.) There are several tens of misstakes in layering and mapping. You should really get someone to map for you, or get someone else if you already have. 10.) There's a script called 8-way movement. It's by a guy called Cogwheel, you should look it up. It makes the game look better. 11.) In many RPG's, people often don't think of the long-term players. When making shops, you should only put in a few items early-on in the game. it forces players to find alternative sources for items/armors. Making the travel your virtual world. 12.) Just a tip, when making NPC events, you can layer them to blend with the background. Like here You can make it so the bushes... or trees.... whatever, Are behind him, making the game appear to have a little more depth. 13.) There's no music, anywhere. At least use the default songs. 14.) Do all the fights display something before you engage them? 15.) After a certain point, the monsters no longer do any damage to you. Try to varry the ammount and intencity of the monsters. You know you can alter the monsters power levels right? They have their own power-up ladders. 16.) Are the fights scripted to happen? If so, I would space them out a little further. 17.) Commander whatshisname is insanely overpowered. You should tone him down. Players like a challenge. 18.) You should use some variables so that these message screens don't keep poping up. It gets annoying. 19.) The scripted fights are getting really annoying... 20.) "Tree of Hell"? Dude... Think up some better names. Like, "Forest Hellspawn" or something. 21.) lol. That was a quick transition from forest to city. Maybe put in a city gate or something to display the changing from grass to concrete. 22.) .................... Well, this game look promising. Just work on those assloads of problems and it will start to look pretty playable!
  4. Cheeee-zeeee ~Secretly Downloads it~
  5. Seriously. Everyone who's ever been on SNL doesn't have any movies on instant Netflix.

  6. I'm uploading it now to a server, when you're done downloading it, PM me so I can take it down. I'm fairly sure I shouldn't distribute someone else's game. EDIT: Here it is. http://entrania.webs.com/Life%20Points.rar
  7. Another Pokemon game? As if nintendo hasn't come out with more than enough. Escape the box that Pokemon designers have been making for decades. Make the game, if not painfully linear, at least give it two lines. Give the player some other options Post-completion. The whole concept of "gotta catch em all" kinda died with the gameboy. Let them have some storyline, give the game depth. Avenge the death of Pokemon Stadium.
  8. Why are there no Adam Sandler Movies on Instant Netflix?

  9. I've only been a member for like, a week. I must be awesome. :D
  10. I lold hard when I saw they CG'd the dad in the beginning. I was like "That's not that dude. He's an old guy!"
  11. Like 30% of the scenes were 2D. They even tell you at the beginning.
  12. The resources that have been uploaded to RMXP's resource area are free to use. It's polite to give credit where credit is due, though.
  13. So it's a clicker game. Those are always good time killers. I'll offer to be a beta tester.
  14. Yeah, I'll map for you. Just PM me the Specifications.
  15. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
  16. @Allen Hunter Dude, the title of the topic is "Hiring Spriters". Of course he needs help.
  17. Warning I'm not trying to be mean here, I'm merely throwing my critique your way. I watched episode one of the perjurer. There's a couple things I have problems with... One: Most (Pretty much all) of the voices sounded like you were talking through a webcam. It's usually a good Idea to have clear-sounding voices. I know not every wants to invest $40+ for a good mic. but it really does make the show better. Two: One or two of the actors seemed to have very little or no voice acting experience and slaughtered his lines. In fact it was fairly distracting. Which tends to make the shows editors appear incompetent or lazy. (Again, no offense.) Three: I know it's an RMXP-based series but you could at least try to make the background events move more. Everything seemed so stagnant, especially towards the beginning of Episode one. There was very little variation in the settings. If anything, could you at least have moved some of the conversations outside the Cafe? The plot is fairly followable, but allover I'd give the series a 3/10. A lot of things need to be changed. (Just so I'm not "Warned" or banned for this, I want to make it excruciatingly clear that this is from a PURELY creative stance. No offense is intended.)
  18. Or be murdered by the stockholders. XP
