  1. It might be interesting to have 'languages' as a skillset, and the languages could be represented simply by different fonts once you learned the language. If you didn't attain the specific said language skill, the text could be left untranslated so if it was German you'd see the actual German text unless the cat could translate German, then you'd have a german font translated into english. So you'd either have to know, translate or learn the actual language, or attain the skill to translate it into English. It would be yet another way to keep people out of areas we don't want them walking around yet, lol if the cat couldn't translate something he could occasionally shout something like 'WTF!' or maybe that could be another downfall is that he can't respond properly lol, if he has a german convo without german skill all the options could show up as 'WTF!' haha... I've been working on some stuff for this game myself, custom tilesets for a game zone reality section I'm working on, so far the graphics are very nintendoish, lol, but in a high tech, but simple way. I want to have different mini-games inside this game. I've written some basic games inside Expression 2 (garry's mod) lol, like snake and racing. If anyone can help contribute types of simple minigames we should write for inclusion in this game, that would be epic helpful. I know a couple people who can help write the mini-games, but I have zero ruby experience so I'll either need help, premade minigames, or extra time. This is kind of like a zone where for some reason, the cat tripped out and got tossed into mini game land. 1) What minigames should we put in here?(list as many as you want) 2) Why did the cat end up in minigame land? (has orange floating roads in space, connected to orb rooms, puzzles, and obscure teleport zone icons for the most strange games) Speaking of that, I know there's some decent scripting how-to stuff on here by Leon and other RPG Maker dudes, I've looked over it a little, faving for later. 3) I was wondering if there's something specifically on how to interpret the help section that comes with RMXP, for use with coding... 4) I know the logical order is obvious, but, as an RMXP noob, should I learn Ruby basics to code in ruby first or should i learn rmxp scripting basics first, then research ruby syntax? 5) and/or I'm curious if there's outside website resources on RMXP Scripting or Ruby that would still apply to working with RMXP Happy new year by the way guys! -Abe
  2. Please read our posts before responding, it makes people who want to make real posts, look like idiots.
  3. :) Thanks for the support. We'll be sure to post the progress as we go. -Abe http://www.gamepublicist.com
  4. My definition of the word idiot was relative to this here. Since my definition is removed can we remove this original negative comment? Since no one here has in IQ less than 25 or is less than 3 years old, the comment that it makes people who work on real games look like idiots simply cannot be true, as even the biggest rpg maker noob cannot be an idiot by definition. I was merely supporting the idea, that perhaps none of us here, at all, are idiots. -Abe http://www.gamepublicist.com
  5. Everything is inside the cats head. He may believe many different things, and perceive many different existences throughout his journeys. I think violentpurge09 was placing a post so that we can brainstorm ideas on this topic as we develop this brand new project. We've spent hours so far discussing, and taking notes on the basic premises of this rpg project and we'll post them here soon enough. The idea is very complex and so it's not worth releasing fragments. We are surmising the very large plot we're conspiring as we speak and we will release more information on this project soon. The cat may perceive for instance, anything from a casual classical rpg environment on up to a nightmare based on a specific emotion that was triggered by a specific interaction with an item or an event. The worlds will span amongst a vast, obscurely perceived dream world that is spread neatly along a complex array of different level environments, that will be well written and organized and specifically designed to satisfy more than one type of gamer. We'll be tying plots together via various dreams, portals, items, substances, emotions, and unique enemies relative to each unique environment. This will be a very emotional game in all directions. We'll be sure to release as much relative information as possible on this topic as it progresses. If you have any ideas to help this project along the lines of various plots, characters, weapons, worlds, environments, sprites, special abilities, etc. that may have any potential relation, now and in the future to this rpg we're working on that would be epic. The primary project summary will appear in the top post by violentpurge09. -Abe http://www.gamepublicist.com
  6. This thread was created to discuss an actual RPG Maker video game that is currently being worked on by a team of two gamers associated with gamepublicist.com who like to create things, produce them, and share them with our friends. We are real and this is real. We've only started this game recently(last week), and there's already a good amount of progress. We'll be working with custom textures, and a unique storyline that will connect in the center but have a robust amount of complex, organized, enjoyable, insanity. There are ideas we could go into detail about, but they're too unique to share until we've at least a public beta version. Toying with a lot of our own ideas, with particular regard to sandbox gaming principles, we've kept the basic idea of a 2d rpg game set in mind, and are very excited for what may transpire from here. In this case, with this game, just because we're inside the mind of a cat, does not mean we can't have a professional outlook at a game we're creating here that satisfies our own complex game addicted cravings. We are not required to divulge additional information simply because our game idea is unique enough to be coined a 'spoof'. I live to create, that is no spoof. We'll have more up to date information as we progress. -Abe http://www.gamepublicist.com
