  1. Nice. Well, like I said, I know really nothing about music. I just need someone who can compose the BGMs and MEs for the game. I don't really know what kind of music it should be, how it should sound, etc. I literally know nothing about music, so I'm just kind of hoping someone can look at it and be like "Okay, so this is what you need". Like, I could tell you what each track is, but one person I talked to was like "Do you want it solemn, happy, sad, rock, etc.?" and I was like "... Uhh...?" cause I know absolutely nothing about music lol
  2. So, as you might know, I'm working on a game called "War of Magic", the thread for it can be found here: http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/topic/12538-versumi-tales-war-of-magic/ Well, I need people who can sprite for RPG Maker MV and compose music. At the moment, I am using old RPG Maker music (like, super old, we're talking RPG Maker 2000 here) for the game. I'd like to get all of the music to be completely custom for the game. Now... I'm not knowledgeable at all in music. As such, I'm not sure how to explain what I need music wise. My hope is that you can take the game and understand the music it needs upon playing it and looking over the script. I can try to help you further if you have questions, but don't expect me to really be able to tell you too much about it, cause I know nothing at all about music, tone, etc. As for spriters, I just need someone who can work in the standard RPG Maker MV style. Of course, I wouldn't be opposed to you doing your own style for the game, but that seems like a lot of extra work, to redraw everything. Still, if you're interested, let me know. We are using the side-view battle system, so we also have the animated enemies and player characters. That said, this is a commercial game. I would like to offer payment to both positions as soon as I have the funds to do so. Likely, once the game is complete enough for a demo, I would run a Kickstarter to fund the remaining project. From there, I'd just need to know how much you'd want to be paid for all of the work, then add it all together and put that up as the funds needed for the Kickstarter. Unfortunately, until a point comes when we can do that, I don't really have any way to pay you. I do apologize for that. Still, it will be paid work once enough of the project is done to crowdfund it, so maybe that'll help encourage people to help?
  3. Story Outline Won't spoil everything, but here's the basics. The Age of Magic is a time on Versumi when magic was at its greatest. It flowed everywhere, and everyone had access to it in some way or another. Magic was governed by eight wizards, the Council of Magic. However, an alternative power, a nonmagical power, entered the world. This power, undetectable by magical means, was known as "psionics". Because it could only be found by others who could wield it, it was considered dangerous and wicked. Children showing signs of the power were killed at young ages to prevent its use. You are Keira, a psion who has lived her life rejected by many. She found herself in a guild of assassins, and she was raised there for most of her life. However, she no longer wants to continue this life. In a desperate act, she and her wife, an archmage named Valerie, leave the Island of Daltros and flee to the main continent of Jinosa. However, upon arrival, they discover that magic itself is under attack by those who claimed to govern it. Keira, Valerie, a young girl raised by wolves, a pirate, and a time-stuck elf warrior must band together and stop whatever evil plot the Council of Magic has up their sleeves. The Characters Keira Seaborn - a psion, specializing in psychometabilism. She can buff your party, debuff enemies, and even heal people using her psionic energy. Valerie Seaborn - a Neko (wolf variant) archmage. Unlike most wizards that only specialize in one or two elements, she shows great promise and power. She uses many different elements and abilities, making her an archmage. She is also the apprentice to one of the wizards that sits upon the Council of Wizards, the ruling party of the world. Alyssa - a girl who was raised by wolves ever since she was but a baby. She is feral and knows nothing of the human world or how to be human. She is skilled in several forms of combat based off of animal fighting styles. Abigail - a pirate captain who was just having a normal day when the Council of Magic destroyed her ship. Angry about this, she joins the party to seek revenge. Fera - a Sylph (a race of elves who have become time-stuck) who has left her forest in seek of adventure. She meets the party and joins them, desiring to follow them on a grand adventure. But is this adventure more than she bargained for? System It's being made in RPG Maker MV at the time. I'd like to build it in Unity instead, but until I can learn how to work it, I can't. I'm going to need a lot of help if I want to move the game outside of RPG Maker. Knights Creations Games And lastly, other then screenshots, I am supposed to give credit to people. Well, at the moment, I've made most of the resources we're using, but I do have a small group of people I work with. We're under the label "Knights Creations Games". None of us have any knowledge of what we're doing, so we're hoping to learn as we go. That said, we DESPERATELY need help with this project, ranging from all manner of jobs such as spriting, composing, and art. Screenshots I can't offer any true screenshots, just some map images here and there. So, here, have images of Varinia and Port Yulan, the two starting towns: Port Yulan: http://sureenink.deviantart.com/art/The-Town-of-Yulan-651489855 Varinia: http://sureenink.deviantart.com/art/City-of-Varinia-653200135
  4. I think maybe he's curious about taking over things like the topic and stuff, thus bumping it and reviving the project. At least that's my guess anyway. If not, then yeah, like pol said, if the original author gave you permission, then you have permission to do it.
  5. Bumping this (I hope that's okay) as I made a pretty big update (I edited the entire topic and changed the project name and everything, just didn't want to make a new topic as I though this would be easier and less clutter-y)
  6. Okay, so, I need either help programming it, or I need it programmed (I kinda wanna learn, so the first is preferred, I guess?) Basically, I want to create a plugin that replaces the Title screen. Rather, I want it to edit the screen so it adds a fourth option. I want to have the options: "New Game", "New Game With Tutorial", "Load Game", and "Options" on the menu. It'd basically be the same as the current title screen but with the tutorial thing added. What it would do would be to load up the game by going to a specific set of X and Y coordinates on a specific map instead of loading the default map and set up. Here's what I have so far, but none of the parameters show up in the plugin manager, so I'm assuming it isn't working: (function() { var parameters = PluginManager.parameters('Scene_NewTitle'); var MapID = Number(parameters['Tutorial Map ID'] || 1); var x = Number(parameters['X Value'] || 0); var y = Number(parameters['Y Value'] || 0); var Scene_NewTitle = Scene_Title.prototype.createCommandWindow; Scene_Title.prototype.createCommandWindow = function() { this._commandWindow = new Window_TitleCommand(); this._commandWindow.setHandler('newGame', this.commandNewGame.bind(this)); this._commandWindow.setHandler('newGame2', this.commandNewGame2.bind(this)); this._commandWindow.setHandler('continue', this.commandContinue.bind(this)); this._commandWindow.setHandler('options', this.commandOptions.bind(this)); this.addWindow(this._commandWindow); }; Scene_Title.prototype.commandNewGame2 = function() { DataManager.setupNewGame(); $gamePlayer.reserveTransfer(MapID, x, y); this._commandWindow.close(); this.fadeOutAll(); SceneManager.goto(Scene_Map); }; function Scene_NewTitle() { this.initialize.apply(this, arguments); } Scene_NewTitle.prototype = Object.create(Scene_Base.prototype); Scene_NewTitle.prototype.constructor = Scene_NewTitle; }) ();
  7. hehe, yeah, it's been forever since I've been here. I'm hoping I'll be able to be a bit active here while this game is in development. I guess that depends on if I can get the help I need, which I guess I need to make a recruitment topic for lol I've been doing pretty good though, I guess. Dealing with depression and a high hormone level that makes me... err... well... very sexual >>
  8. Well, look who has returned, and this time, I'm dedicating myself wholly to this project. Not only am I doing that, but I'm looking for volunteers who can help with the project. I'll probably make a recruitment thread in a few days or so, but you can let me know if you wanna help here, too. That said, this topic isn't for recruitment, that's what the recruitment forum is for XD Story Outline Not going to spoil everything, but here's the basics: The world of Versumi has existed for thousands of years. It is a world rich with magic and lore. As you, a human, make your way along a path between towns, you come upon a young girl who claims to be a powerful wizard. She asks for your help. All of time is being shattered. She has seen all of time and knows that you and a group of three others are the only ones who can stop time from being destroyed. You must travel to the Sylph Forest, a place that exists inside of time, and travel to the different ages of history that are under attack. You will travel to the past, to the very Age of Creation itself. You will travel to the Age of Magic, where magic was the most powerful force in the world. You will travel to the Age of the Gods, where the gods rule over the world and cause calamity. And finally, you will travel to the source of all of the problems deep within the Sylph Forest itself to put an end to the one who seeks to destroy all of time. The Characters The characters are still in the works, but here is what I have so far: You - A human warrior who fights with the sword. Ana - A powerful wizard. She looks like she's no older than 10, but is truthfully much older mentally. Her body has not aged in years as she has lived within the Sylph Forest for so long. More to come: I'm still working on the designs of the main characters, so there are still more to come. I'll update this as I go. Systems It's being made in RPG Maker MV at the time. Screenshots Well, they're not true screenshots, but they're little dev shots I've taken in a hope to entice people into volunteering to help. Hasn't helped much... but still, here's what I got so far: Sylph Forest Layout: http://sureenink.deviantart.com/art/Sylph-Forest-Layout-588249244
  9. So, I was wondering if there was a way to lock a character in formation in VX Ace? Since VX Ace has its own party switch script, I'd like to just use that, but I need the main character (actor 1) to always be locked in place as the first person in formation. Is it possible to do that?
  10. Actually, Sonic was planned to be a playable character, as well as Mario and Luigi, but I had some issues working the idea, so I changed my characters into the people who are making the game.
  11. The simple method is fine. I don't need to change the amount, I just need to change the name. I'm also kind of script dumb...so I don't actually know how I'd set that script up.
  12. I figured I'd rather not bump a topic that hadn't been posted in in a year and a half, so here's a brand new topic! The Legend of Zelda: Worlds Collide is a fan-made game created by Emily-Ann Coons under the name of "Knights Creations" using the program RPG Maker XP. The game centers around Link as he is thrust into Limbo and forced to save his not only his world from the threat of an unknown evil force, but also many other worlds as well. Plot and Setting Prologue It's been a year since the awakening of Princess Zelda. Hyrule has fallen upon troubled times while the Order of Wizrobes continues to attempt to capture Link for use in their dark ritual of resurrecting their master, the Evil Wizard Ganon. Times have grown desperate, and it seems the Order has no choice. Their army collects together in one location in a hope to launch one final assault on the castle and take Link. However, Zelda, now Queen of Hyrule, has foreseen this. She sends Link to Parapa Palace, where the army is amassing. When Link arrives, he battles through the minions of the Order, only to find himself standing face to face with his shadow. Gameplay The game uses a lot of the standard RPG Maker XP systems, but uses a few custom ones as well, including a side-view, animated battle system, a party select system, and much more. There is currently plans for voice acting as well, though the voice acting will be released in a patch so as to make the download of the game smaller for those who do not wish to use voice acting. Characters Link - Link is the main protagonist of the game, and he is tasked with gathering allies who can aid him in his quest. Mario - The Hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, and supposedly a plumber when not saving the world. Luigi - Mario's brother and also the second in the plumbing business known as the "Mario Bros Plumbing Company." Peach - The crowned princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. She rules over all of the Toads in the land, though she sometimes wishes things could be more exciting. Lucia - The guardian of Limbo. She is only playable while in Limbo itself, but her skills make her the best for healing while in Limbo. Sun Rose - A creature from Mobius who has traversed the worlds to help stop Dr. Eggman from conquering an unsuspecting world. Jonto - A keyblade master who has found himself entered into a dark tournament. Pokes - Not much is known about this character at this time. Sadia - The daughter of Sakuya in ancient Nippon. Like her mother, she has control over powerful elements. Charmander - A Charmander from the World of Magical Creatures. Jay - A powerful PSI user who is trying to stop a terrible future from happening, but first he must recover an item that was stolen from him to do so. Sureen Ink - A pony from Equestria that got sucked into another world by powerful magic. What purpose will she serve in the group? Villains Shadow Link - Seemingly an important character in the game, he seeks to revive the Demon King Ganon at the cost of Link's life. Bowser - King of the Koopa Troop. His desire is to capture the Princess Peach and conquer the Mushroom Kingdom. Dr. Eggman - Also known as "Dr Ivo Robotnick", he wishes to see everything in the world roboticized and under his complete control. Sunset Shimmer - An unicorn who desires to obtain enough power to conquer the entire world of Equestria, but to get that power she must first follow the orders of another and banish a certain group of six ponies into a strange world where her master rules. Oyuki - An ancient goddess who went power mad and was banished from the Celestial Realm. She's now returned to exact her revenge. Arceus - Filled with anger and malice, he seeks to destroy the world, starting from its place of creation: The Spear Pillar. Giygas - An evil beast who has conquered the world, and now seeks to stop the one person who exists in the past that can stop him. Nemesis - A powerful lich who was once destroyed by a powerful mage, but now he's back...but how? The Trélaris - A group of phantom creatures without shape or form. They seem to be the cause of all of the trouble in each of the worlds, but exactly who is their leader? Development and Ownership The game started development in March of 2011, but was then scrapped a year later. Another year later, Emily-Ann Coons has decided to pick the game back up, starting fresh and reworking the storyline to allow for easier game creation. Though it is a fan made game, full credit is given to Nintendo for all of their copyrighted material, such as characters and locations. The game is strictly non-profit, and is only being shared as a tribute to Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda series. Trivia The idea may have come from a webcomic called Legend of the Mushroom Kingdom written by Thriller-Man that she actively reads.Even though Dr. Eggman unleashes Mecha Sonic as the boss in the Mushroom Kingdom world, the sprite is labelled as "Silver Sonic" which could mean Silver Sonic had originally been planned for the game but was changed to the Sonic 3 and Knuckles Mecha Sonic.Screenshots An Image of North Castle's Throne Room Parapa Palace from Zelda 2 redesigned The Overworld from Zelda 2 redesigned
  13. Okay, so, here's the deal...My game has multiple worlds in it, each from a different video game series. Problem is, each game series also has its own currency, and I can't figure out a way to create a unified currency for all of them. So, what I need is a way to change the name of the currency in the game based on the world. Like, if someone went into the Mario world, the currency would be called "Coins" but in say the Zelda world it would be "Rupees". Is there a way to do this? If not, can someone gives me an idea of how to still make money make sense for all of the worlds?
  14. I'm looking for a script that allows for me to add elemental weakness to a player wearing certain armor (example: a wooden shield would burst into flame thus making you weak to fire, while an iron shield would conduct electricity, making you weak to lightning). I'm not sure if this is possible or not, though. If so, could anyone manage to build a script like that for me?
