    Nemesis: Sojourn
  1. First of all, I've never posted one of these before, so if I miss anything out or royally screw it up, I'm sorry  Just be sure to let me know and I'll fix it ASAP. Nemesis: Sojourn follows Cy, the seventeen year old captain of the city-ship Nemesis, which has found itself warped into a very strange world and its crew scattered. Betrayed and left for dead by his second-in-command and best friend James Lawson, it's now up to Cy to find and rescue his missing crew members before they're eaten, enslaved or worse. From the village of the Hairy Penguin to the land of the catlike Akirrans and the very odd world of Pelago, Cy's journey will take him out of his technological comfort zone and into a fantasy world full of weird and not always wonderful things. During the game, Cy will experience flashbacks that will show the player exactly how he and his crew ended up on the Nemesis to begin with. Cy's world is a dynamic one. NPCs have lives of their own; while you're wandering around looking for your crew, people will die, move house, get married, go on vacation, get back from vacation and so on. Some people you shop from will use the money you give them to buy new things for their houses. People who are not ready to join your party or give you a quest yet may change their minds later on. If you haven't visited a town or the Nemesis for a while, it's always worth paying it a visit to see if anything new has happened. CHARACTERS CY Cy left home at twelve and at fifteen got picked up and sent to a labor camp for street kids. Escaping eighteen months later, he got mixed up with the Nemesis, managed to seize control and has been in undisputed command of the city-ship ever since. Intelligent and often ruthless, Cy doesn't suffer fools gladly, although he has a strong sense of loyalty toward his crew. Cy is not his real name; nobody on board the Nemesis, with the possible exception of James, knows what that is. TAMI The Nemesis' young and rather neurotic medic, Tami got the job purely because her parents happened to be planetary renowned surgeons. While she does the best she can, she can't shake the uncomfortable suspicion that her best might not be good enough and often feels as though she's in over her head. She's also very soft hearted and so has a hard time dealing with malingerers. AMELIA Weapons operative on board the Nemesis. Fiery and often idealistic, Amelia's the kind of person who isn't afraid to speak up when the situation calls for it, and sometimes even when it doesn't. Although not one to break rules for the sake of it, she firmly believes that if you're fighting against injustice (or at least what she perceives as injustice) then the ends justify the means. LIDIA The Nemesis' pilot, Lidia is one of those people who believes in the magical healing power of whale songs, that crystals have feelings, that having your foot squeezed will rid your body of any impurities and that just about anything can be made into tea if you boil it for long enough. Nobody actually dislikes her, but they often give her strange looks. PLESCHIRAVOLLBAKONUBONU (Aka "PLIB") Plib is an Earth Devil, ostensibly sent out to learn about the different plants and trees in the world before beginning her plant growing apprenticeship under Master Saladrius. She is the first Earth Devil to see the outside world in two hundred years and has a rather worrying addiction to strawberries. There are other characters and party members, but these are the main ones. Cy and Amelia are strong fighters (although at one point it's possible for Amelia to learn to use magic) Plib is the equivalent of a mage, and Tami and Lidia are both healers. Their style is very different; Tami can learn a wider range of skills, including some that inflict damage, while Lidia is a far stronger healer but has no offensive skills and is rather weak in combat. SCRIPTS AND SYSTEMS RPG Maker XP Hermes Messenging System by Simon Paridon Amaranth's Commercial Scripts QuestMajor's Map Name and Gold Bigace360's Biography script Zeriab's Quest Book Leon Westbrooke's Party Changer** ** = The game is using this script at the moment, but I don't know the creator's policy on using their stuff in commercial games and so far I've had no luck contacting them for permission, so this may change. CREDITS FOR EVERYONE ELSE Beyond those already listed? I can only think of a few: Character Art Alera-chan Music Sue Wheeler Testers Rob Austin John Whitmarsh-Knight The actual design and writing team is just me at the moment, though Rob says he's willing to help map as soon as I sit down and teach him how to do it. Of course, the above is subject to change and will be edited with a few more visual goodies once I have them, but that's how things stand right now. SCREENSHOTS The Bridge CGT (a kind of delivery/cleaning/transport group on the Nemesis, hence all the buggies and intercoms ;) The fog effect is supposed to represent smoke after the crash, though I'm in two minds about how it looks...I might scrap it) No demo as yet, but I'm working on one. When I have it sorted, I'll post it here for anyone who wants to try it out :)
  2. :excited: Thanks everyone; I never thought I'd get such a welcome! It's really nice to meet all of you too; I hope to be around for a long time! That's true. Politically we belong to Spain, but geographically we're in Africa  Heh. No, no complete projects as yet; the only RPGXP game I'm working on is a commercial game called Nemesis: Sojourn. I will make a post in the User Games section as soon as I have time to sit down and set it all out properly. At the moment the demo will have to wait until a) I finish the first 'country' and b) get all the default tilesets in that country replaced with custom ones (Okay, little things like the default books, mirrors, props etc might be okay). I've been using TheInquisitor's sets, which are excellent but it seems a lot of other projects have been using them as well and since this is a commercial project, I'd like it to be 100% unique, or at least 99% ;)
  3. Thanks  Yeah, I get that a lot; most people here just call it Fuerte for short...
  4. Or "Hi, new member here from Fuerteventura, Canary Islands", if that's better for everyone. Though I'm never in one country for longer than a few months at the moment, so perhaps that should be "Hi, new member here who's currently all over the place." ...Nah. Let's stick with the sand thing. I'm a little new to this since I don't often join forums and when I do, I'm usually too shy to post much. Anyway, for my game designing needs, I use RPGXP, AGS 2.72 and Axis Game Factory. Any artistic doodling is done in TwistedBrush and good ol' MSPaint. Anyway, since I joined a little while back, I thought I should probably drop in and say hi. So, HI!
