Shade the Mystic

I once tried to make a Smash Brothers RPG years ago. If I could find all the resources again, I think I'd like to take a whack at that again at some point.

God, yes, the Ship chews ape. I can tolerate most anything else, the Ship sucks. Only thing that sucks worse then the Ship tile? Ship Interior. The walls alone are way more complicated then they should be. Really? FF6 is the only one that comes to mind for me. Probably a ton more, just can't think of any right now.

I was puttering about with my Skills tab, trying to figure out why some spells weren't doing any damage, when I noticed the 'Variance' modifier and wondered what that does. I've played around with it, but I don't think I've noticed any real difference in anything. So...what does it do? I figure it's got to be something, or else it wouldn't be there, but for the life of me, I can't figure it out, and the 'What's This' tab is just impenetrable doublespeak. Does anyone know? Does anyone ever touch it or anything, or do they just leave it well enough alone?

I know I put 'dead' in the OP, I don't know why I did that, guess I 'm just all around stupid this particular month or something- but she doesn't have to be bleeding. Unconscious or down is fine, so, no blood or anything.
