  1. I'm having a little bit of trouble figuring out some aspects of a major boss battle, and I'm hoping someone here can help me with it. The boss itself is broken up into five different parts, with the main part, the one you really have to beat, being invincible so long as the other four parts are still alive. The problem is, I can't turn off the invincibility once the other parts are dead. I've tried using an invisible copy of the boss and having him appear when the four parts die, but it just isn't working out. Here's what I have for the eventing. Spoiler Screenshot I probably messed up somewhere there, I'd be lying if I said I fully understood every aspect of conditional branches. Any help would be immensly appreciated!
  2. Have I even played 10 RPGs ?Man, I'm gonna have to think about this one... 10. Final Fantasy 1-3- I'm grouping these three together because they're essentially interchangable. Four warriors, crystals, job system, whatever. I still couldn't tell you how the stories for the three of them differ from one another. Nice games, still. 9. Final Fantasy 7- I have to admit, I like this one, recently beat it for the first time, but I still don't think it lives up to all the hype. There's just something...missing. Although I will give it props for making me cry like a baby whenever I hear Aerith's theme....yeah, I know. 8. Legend of Zelda- Do I need to justify this one? 7.Grandia- I swear, I will beat this one day. I'm right at the last boss. Maybe I'll start over and not waste those precious mana eggs on the people who are just going to leave the party anyways. 6. Lunar- For the music alone. 5. Super Mario RPG- Belome still kinda creeps me out. 4. Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2- I couldn't even begin to tell you what these games are about (what the hell are they talking about? "Hearts"? Do...do they mean literal hearts, or emotions, or souls, or what??), and yet I still play them over and over. What does that tell you? 3.Final Fantasy X/LoZ:OoT/LoZ:TP/Shadow of the Colossus- Yep, four-way tie, a 'quadruple-kiss', if you will. I just can't decide which of these four I like best, and they all so very much belong on this list in some capacity. 2. Startropics- The hell? I know, an obscure-as-heck game from the NES era. Still, it's a pretty damned good game, I'd say. 1. Final Fantasy 6- Fourteen people. And they make you care about every single one. Sure, you might not use Relm or Umaro in a fight, but they make you care. And that's a trick right there, that is. And Kefka owns Sephiroth. Keeps him in a little aquarium by his bed. Feeds him brineshrimp. Like a pet. Hey, looks like I have played 10 rpgs! Lookit that! I need a life...
  3. They're both excellant, I like them both. Thank you so much guys! I think I can use both of them. Of coarse, with credit to all three of you! Thank you again, so much!
  4. It's the right idea, but the clothes don't seem quite right, and the hair (or lack thereof) makes him look a little less sage-like, more accountant-ish. But still, it's a step in the right direction. Well, I've been using Sithjester's Dr. Jones sprite (Sean Connery from the Indiana Jones movie) as a placeholder for now. But I was thinking. something like robes, maybe ceremonial, definitely with a beard and glasses, possibly a hat or a hood of some sort. The idea is that he only looks like a wizened old man in funny clothes. He might actually be something else altogether. If you've ever seen Maester Maechen from Final Fantasy X, something like that. At least, similar to that idea, anyways. Not exactly like Maechen, because...well, that would be a lawsuit waiting to happen.
  5. Sorry, should have been more clear. God, I'm just brainless today, it seems. I'm looking for an old man writing in a book. Like, if I set his animation to 'Stop', he'll be scribbling in a leatherbound book or something. I think that's clear enough now.
  6. It's a brand new computer, and I'm listening to music right now, so...I don't think that's the problem. Well it doesn't matter now. I'll just have to convert any MP3s I want to waves, I guess. I can live with that, but the space it chews up is just ridiculous, for music files.

    Insanity Elemental

I know it's a bit big...makes a pretty good boss though. Just load it up with status attacks like Confuse and Berzerk (I had them as 'Hallucinate' and 'Insane'.)
