Marked 197 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 DarkDragon just told me the trial version of RMVX is out, so I'm going to post it here. Download The limitations are: 1. You cannot make a game disk The only way you can play the games is by using the "Test Play" feature. 2. Limits on the number of items, skills, etc in the database This will not be limited in the trial version, but in the trial version you cannot change the default number of items, skills, etc. in the database. 3. Can make up to 10 maps Self-explanatory. 4. 10 events per map Self-explanatory. 5. Limited RTP In the complete version, there are 104 characters, 56 monsters, 80 face graphics, 80 animations, 1024 map tiles, 238 icons, 42 BGMs, 10 BGS, 10 MEs, and 200 SEs. There are less of these in this trial. 6. Scripts cannot be edited You can take a look at the scripts, but not edit them. 7. Games cannot be opened Self-explanatory. 8. Games cannot be saved Self-explanatory. 9. It doesn't correspond to updata? We have no idea what this means. 10. You do not need to install RTP separately Everything is included in this trial version, but in the full version you will need to install RTP separately like previous editions of RPG Maker. NOTE: The trial is japanese. Test it and tell us what you think.

Marked 197 Report post Posted December 12, 2007 Well you should be able to get the general idea. It has been very impressive so far, its the same story in other communities as well.

darkkyros 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 Personally, I'm greatly impress with the way VX works. Not so much with the graphics, but those are easily changed. I can't wait until an english version is released. When it comes out, I'm definitely getting RMVX.
Black Shadow 14 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 I downloaded it, but I got a disk space error, so I was forced to remove it:( Maybe I should wait until I get a new comp until I download it.
EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted December 14, 2007 Meh...this doesn't look like it will be as good as RMXP...honestly...the battle system sucks (so does RMXP's, but I don't use the RMXP system anyway), the characterset system sucks...It just...doesn't look good...sorry...I doubt I'll get it...I might simply for the music/battlers for my game, but otherwise...I doubt it...personally, it looks like they just downgraded to RPG Maker 2003... Leon 55 Report post Posted December 14, 2007 I was highly disappointed with VX. Especially the mapping. I went to map out a beach, and found the layering of trees... distasteful. In XP, you bring it to life, and make it look breath-taking, but in VX, it looks like something out of a bad Game Boy game (not advanced, but the original). I couldn't figure out how to give it multi-layered looks, couldnt get cliffs in there, and there were maybe... 4 tiles i could decorate it with. Overall, I think my girlfriend, who would just tinker with it for kicks, would like it mroe for the cutesy look, than I would for something i would seriously call a game. Wyzrd 12 Report post Posted December 14, 2007 I have to agree with some of the things said here but I also think once it's in English we might find it better. lol
