Marked 197 Report post Posted October 14, 2006 Recently a I had to reintall windows on my computer because it was over run by viruses and spyware, it was so bad that I formated mt hardrive. I found this program on download.com and though I would post it here. It has a 5 star CNET rating, and is a very good program to have. On download.com, over 40 million people have downloaded it. So far it has blocked 140 intrusions from my computer, and I installed it yesterday! Its a firewall but does a lot more, you can read all about what it does at download.com. Hehe, my brother has a MAC, and since no viruses can infect Macs, he backed up everything then PURPOSELY downloaded a virus. Hehe, now it just sits there on his desktop called, 'Random Virus'. Marked 197 Report post Posted October 16, 2006 Its Windows thats the problem, and it is a big problem. But this is a great program to stop viruses and spyware. Marked 197 Report post Posted December 30, 2006 I use this, and I get no viruses and dont have any problems with that sort of thing. BUT, this keeps them out, I had none when i installed this, unlike you would have. I had viruses so bad that I could start my computer, so I formated my harddrive and started again, stupidly not backing up any RPG Maker XP files. I lost everything. Also if your wanting protection and removal of viruses and spyware without having to pay. Check out free programs such as: Spybot Search & Destroy, SpywareBlaster, Ad-Aware 2008 Free Edition, and BitDefender Antivirus 10 Free Edition. Also the COMODO link is the free version.
