Jesse66126 4 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 Some countries punish heavy crimes by execution via electric chairs, lethal injections, guillitines,mc donald's feeding binges, firing squads, hanging,or burning at the stake. Now usually this is for heavy crimes like killing people. However, isn't killing that person the same as them killing others?Murder is murder, right? In the Bible,or just about any religion for that matter,it says somewhere:"Thou Shalt Not Kill." (Course in the Bible, like two paragraphs down it also says:"An eye for an eye.") Executions are generally performed by police or the military, but what is the difference between them executing a condemnded man and a group of vigilantees executing him. What gives them the "permission" to end that man's life? Does the government give certain people the "divine right" to kill people? Alternatively,if we did not practice execution, then those said individuals basically live out the rest of their lives with free room and board. Be it in a building filled with other butt-raping psychopathes, but still.
Marked 197 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 I think that a death penalty is a fitting punishment for murderers. I think that it's fair. Whether or not there should be a death penalty is another story. It is difficult to prove if someone did commit a murder, and what an innocent person pleaded guilty? For that reason I think that it shouldn't be done. In some cases though, like in New Zealand a man escaped from prison and murdered two other people before being captured, its obvious they are cold blooded killers and I think they do not deserve their lives. Especially since those killings were random, he had no reason. But in NZ there will never be a death penalty.
Nisage 31 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 I don't know if every religion goes with "Thou Shall Not Kill", I think there's one that only believes in hell (what was it called, Satanism.... something with Satan in it I believe.) And besides, it would seem almost everyone is killing nowadays, and with guns, how pathetic are you humans? What happened with solving our problems with our fists, kicks, and the occasional headbutt? -sigh- Pathetic, and I agree with those countries, if someone kills, then they die, "An eye for an eye", Karma, and things like that. See, it's simple, and it tries to keep us in order since the Government think they are all powerful (even though they are in debt right now from what I hear. I don't watch the news ok.) And besides, do you know how many humans are on this dying planet? Let me tell you all, when the year reached 2000, the population of humans reached well over 2 billion. 2 BILLION! I say let those countries keep executing their ways. Besides, with the way these (don't know if I'm aloud to say this word or not so I won't type it in) teens nowadays, they'll be more of you humans soon enough. Besides, it's their fault they killed people. They must accept the punishment of their actions, rotting in jail doesn't really do anything for teaching them a lesson. It's like a time out for kids, but WAY older kids. They'll be back to killing once they are released from jail early do to "good behavior"...... -sigh- This is why I'm a Kira follower (For those who have watched Death Note, you should know what that ment) So in conclustion, if you kill you get killed. Polraudio 122 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 I think if you have taken a life you life should be taken. It will sure lower the costs of prison and the amount of killing.
Leon 55 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 The only reason they are bypassing the death penalty in many states in the US is it is 'more costy than a life sentence'. However, A friend of mine was recently murdered, and her little girl of 3 was left alone with her mother's body for almost 12 hours. Before that, i was against capital punishment. Now that it has hit so close to home... I say if anyone is given a death penalty, give them 1 month to file an appeal. If it doesn't happen, shoot em in their cell. If they do, and it falls through, shoot em right there. It saves time in the penal system, it saves money, and it gives relief to the family.

You're a human too ya know  I agree with a lot of your points there. But i don't know if i would be a Kira follower, at the start he did kill murderers and people that deserved to die. But that is playing god, and should one person decide who is worthy of living or not?(don't get the wrong idea, I strongly dislike anime). There are also things much worse than death, and I'd suppose thats where torture was invented. If you kept a human in solitary confinement, i'm sure they'd dislike that a lot more than death. Thats horrible, I'm sorry to hear about that Leon. Before I was born, my cousins boyfriend shot her in the head, and she died soon after. He is now out of jail and even lives near my cousins mother. EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 I agree that there should be a death penalty for those who kill. If you kill, then you should be killed in return. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" meaning, if you kill, you want to be killed...maybe...probably not REALLY but that's the basics of it. Also, "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" kind of thing, but as a "life for a life" thing. So, yeah, I think there should be a death penalty for murderers. Also, as a later note, I'm not sure what all religions believe in hell, but Satanism and Christianity are two of them.
Jesse66126 4 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 My aunt's exhusband commited suicide while she was talking with him for a divorce.they accused her of murdering him,and she got five years in prison for second-degree manslaughter. For those who don't who don't know legalese, manslaugter is accidental killing like hitting someone with your car who clearly ran out in front of you. Though to be honest, there was no reason for her to have gone to jail at all.He was a crazy-drunk.
Nisage 31 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 You're a human too ya know  Well, there are many different types of humans but I won't go into detail since this is the wrong topic for that anyway :P (And I'm still trying to figure out which type I am) I agree with a lot of your points there. But i don't know if i would be a Kira follower, at the start he did kill murderers and people that deserved to die. But that is playing god, and should one person decide who is worthy of living or not? Hmm....... It wouldn't be "playing God" since he was doing something the police werent doing, getting rid of guilty criminals. Also, don't people in a court play God, desciding ones fate for a crime, even if it was a crime the accused didn't commite? Not much of a difference, is there? (don't get the wrong idea, I strongly dislike anime). ?_?................ I won't reply to that. There are also things much worse than death, and I'd suppose thats where torture was invented. If you kept a human in solitary confinement, i'm sure they'd dislike that a lot more than death. Basicly, depending on the commited crime depends on the punishment. If you killed about 10 people, you get killed. If you rob someone, you get placed in jail for a few months. If you try to kill yourself, you get another chance to do it again, or go to a psychiatrist. And anything else will resolt in torture or house arrest until further notice, or something like that, depending on the commited crime.
Polraudio 122 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 Basicly, depending on the commited crime depends on the punishment. If you killed about 10 people, you get killed. they should make it where if you kill someone you will lose your hand, arm, leg, foot, fingers or toes. That might slow down killing cause no one wants to lose any of them things.
Kadski 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2009 We should have the death penalty for nearly all crimes. Burglary, Murder, Rape, Rioters, etc. 90% of all crimes are committed by repeat offenders. You know why we have so many criminals nowadays? Because jail is cushy and soft and death in painless, etc. 2000 years ago if you stole something they cut off your fingers so you couldn't steal again, now which sounds a bit more threatening, 6 months of free food, home and such, or losing your fingers? We should make the death penalty hurt, burn them, stab them, bludgeon them to death, I don't know, just make it hurt. For smaller crimes they should at least have an arm broken or something, hell if I stole something and then went to jal and they broke my arm backwards I wouldn't steal again compared to just chilling out for six months. I hate rioters most of all, and it's always leftists, you never hear "Capitalists rioted in downtown today and burned down 16 buildings" it's always "Left Wing rioters burned down 16 buildings today in riots downtown". I HATE RIOTERS!!! We should do it like the German riot police, walk in a line, beat down and rioters we find and zip tie them to poles until a big police bus can come by and take them to jail, or hell with it, just pull out a few Humvee and some Black Hawk Helicopters and just start firing away into the crowds. Nowadays the worst rioters get is a night in jail, imagine what they would think before they almost rioted next time "Hey almost 500 people were shot for rioting, maybe I should just go home". I am for capital punishment along with a "No Bull" policy, you commit a crime and you are now hostile and therefore a valid target to shoot. If the person flees the scene we should open fire, if they rob someone we should open fire, if we arrest them we should torture them so they will never do that again. I hate criminals and they should just be killed off, and yes I am for Kira in Death Note along with Nisage. For crying out loud why bother with "Painless death by drugging" just take an axe and chop off their head, or burn them (Free power heh?) OH OH OH!!!! Even better, put them in labor camps where they would be forced to work for basic food and they would sleep on the ground and they would have to work in fields and dig mines and lay railway, instead of letting them chill in jail put them to work or burn them or gas them or something. Just make them work or get rid of them, and really? Waste money of funerals? Just take them and throw them in a big ditch with all the other scum.

Prison isn't cushy. Being locked up in a cage with psychos, murderers, and rapists. You know how many people die in prison each day? Depending which prison you go to, it can be a fate worse than death. Also, not everyone in prison are actually guilty of a crime. People locked up the Japanese in labor camps during World War II,and even executed a couple for simply being accused of being communists. My aunt was sent to prison for Second degree manslaughter of her drunk boyfriend who commited suicide and shot her in the stomach while she was pregnant! She got five years in prison for just being at the wrong place, wrong time. Lastly, Light was starting to go crazy toward the end of Death Note, same with Luluche on Code Gease. They both had to die as punishment for their sins or they would've kept on killing. Some people steal to survive. They're poor, dying of thirst or starvation, they see a rich fat man stuffing his face on food that cost more than they make in a year, and they get desperate. Stealing for survival is different than stealing out of jealously or greed. Though,I often wonder where thieves get the money to buy a gun when they can barely afford a hamburger.
