Joey 9 Report post Posted April 8, 2009 XP, its like the only one I've really liked...the earlier Windows versions were buggy and all that. Vista, I heard nightmare stories (ok not really, lol) about that thing...Linux I wanna play around with...but I dunno at the moment.
Anemoi 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2009 Ever since I got this laptop with Windows Vista I have realized how much I hate Windows. Due to the lack of money, I can't buy a better laptop or desktop computer. My selection? Anemoi prefers Mac OS/X... for everything: interface, stability, security, user experience, user friendly, etc. As for Linux... well, I'm right now studying so I'll not play around with an OS that I haven't even used at least once. Maybe after I get job I'll buy a cheap laptop and tweak around with Linux. O_O (I don't know if my ISP provides internet for Linux and its distributions, I'll have to learn some command lines for the terminal, etc.)

Plug in and go, unless its wireless then there's a problem. When i tried Linux on my laptop it took me a very long time to get wireless. But i got it some how. Mac OS/X or Leopard(Dont know if there the same) is my last operating system to try and i have tried every OS.
Wyzrd 12 Report post Posted April 9, 2009 I'ma have to say Windows XP for now. I didn't mind Vista for the couple weeks I gave it a run. Lots of people complained about it. I never experinced any problems with it. I do have a laptop with Mac. I personally don't like Mac but they are good for graphics and music, which most of you know, are the two things I do the most. Leon 55 Report post Posted April 9, 2009 I quite enjoy vista. Things have actually been simplified. The only reasn people complain is everything got moved around a bit. Yes, some older software does have compatability issues, but most of them have riggings around them; including RmXP. Vista has actually run smooth on my laptop. I've never had a vital error with it, either.

No errors and it runs a little faster for me. Also you can set the background to play video files(wmv's).
Leon 55 Report post Posted April 9, 2009 I have Home Premium 32 bit. I believe that is just above basic.
Eagyn 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2009 I use windows vista home premium 64bit. I'll vouch for the OS as I've had little to no issues with it. Everyone boasts how it has problems with tons of things.. yet i've hardly incountered one with anything other then homemade programs. Even then its usually a quick fix. formlesstree4 18 Report post Posted June 30, 2009 sorry, but for programmers (like me) vista is terrible, i absolutely freaking hate it 1. I'm a programmer, and I have little problems making my programs work on vista. (Rant about software developers, including myself) Typically, it's bad coding that throws errors such as read/writing in the Program Files directory. That's a no no in vista. It's for security issues. People are so hypocritical. They complain about not being safe/secure enough, Microsoft attempts to fix that, now people are complaining about it being too secure. Hypocrites. If the software developers would have developed PROPER habits to begin with in programming (which I didn't), then this whole transition would not have been an issue. Just don't Read/Write files in Program Files, put them in the User's documents. 2. What language are you programming in?
