My computer is becoming an old fart, lol.

Recommended Posts

It only started doing this for about a week now, I have no clue what it is and I'm just assuming its becoming old and the (I think its called this) power supply or whatever (where the power cord connects to) is acting up. When you try to turn on my computer is turns on for like, a second or two and shuts back off. I'm not able to even see anything on the monitor yet, and then I have to un-plug and re-plug it back in in order to try again. When I FINALLY get it up and running at some random point it works fine, that is until I turn it off for the day...meaning I have to deal with that whole thing again the next day...I don't know what else to say, HELP! lol

That's an odd error. It must be a part inside the computer that's not working like it used to, but that's only a guess.

Is it called the power box? Oh, well yeah I might need a new one...or a new cord, motherboard I dunno for sure since its somewhat new. (basically everything inside it is a bit new, save for the case and power box I'm guessing)

Best thing to do is to take it to a computer engineer and he will surely fix it up. I am guessing here, though, that it might be either the power supply or something in the comp itself has moved out of it's place. It is something simple and not that major, most likely.

Eh, my dad got the chance to look at it, and it was the power box. Basically it was old and was starting to wear out, we put in some other power box (its half-the power but its able to handle my computer for now) for now until I'm able to get a new one, since this other one doesn't fit right in the case.

Coincidentially the power box on my pc blew up a few days ago as well. If its to do with a computer shutting off unexpectedly, its usually in most cases the powerbox, its a pretty easy to replace.
