Noticed a couple minor things off the bat...

  • you spelled "Civilization", "Civilisation".
  • When you wrote "A 1000 years passed", it should either be "1000 years passed" or "A thousand years passed"
  • The doors have the opened graphic right off the bat, when they should only open when used
  • Some of the walls can be walked on
  • When leaving one of the buildings, there's only one exit event spot when there should be three
  • Can walk through some walls on the interior of some buildings (the inn for example)
  • Can walk right over benches

Will post as I find things. Other than those, it seems like a decent game so far.

Yeah, those graphical bugs have all but been eliminated now. I'm so ashamed of myself now. I shouldn't have rushed into posting this. :( Tiny little things like that do tend to put people off, and they'll dismiss the entire game as a flop... I've had some replies like that from other sites. Now I have to attend to the more pressing issue of dealing with the monster battlers. I had someone over at rpgcrisis.net look the whole thing over and I paid close attention to what he said. The extended demo will feature the first major boss and around 7 hours of gameplay.

 

But I can assure you that there are no game-killing bugs, so that's a plus.

 

Thanks again though. I'm trying to make this one of the best possible RPGMaker XP fan games out there. :)

Updates: For new demo:

 

- Gryz's Warcry skill has been reduced to cost only 2TP, and the bonus is that he will recover around 10-15HP per round, as long as WarCry is active.

- Alys' Crosscut has been cut down from 15TP to 10TP per shot. Chaz's CC costs around 8 TP.

- Vortex is much stronger now. Buffing Alys with Shift and Vision will enable her to do some pretty big damage to a single foe.

- Added an item called Eye gene, which removes Blind from an ally. ( The most annoying status in the game, I assure you. It renders all techs and skills useless.

- Changed the windowskin.

- The battle command will resemble PS4's, with icons replacing the text. :wink:

- I am in the process of removing the horrible white outlines that appear around most enemies. See below screenie.

The new windowskin looks great. It fits into the look of the game. Oh I just noticed you use a VX animation to be part of your windowskin with the list of options. Very nice

Thanks. Virtually all the animations in the game are from VX. They are far more superior to Xp's wimpy animations.

Terribly sorry for the severe lack of updates once again, but I'm fairly busy on other forums as well. ^^

The DOOR in the image below. The event is set up incorrectly. As you can see it is OPEN. Press enter and it shows the door close and then open.

 

That problem has already been resolved. Was a pain to do, but all doors open properly now.

 

Quick update:

I have successfully managed to emulate the First-Person dungeon effect.

The screen just needs a little bit of prettying up (like making it darker and such).

In battle testing. I'm finally able to create psuedo-3d dungeon battlebacks. :D The battlers appear blurred against the hi-res backdrop because they've be anti-aliased. But I don't intend to use this battleback in my game, so it's cool. :biggrin_002: I'm actually using this image below for a battleback, so the resolutions won't clash so badly.

Yes, when the MGC returned, it was good. But when the MGC has given to the world a FPLE script, it was UNREAL. Adding FPLE to the game brightened this project.

 

 

P.S. Incidentally, I saw your post on rmvxp.com ... Fukuyama Catterpillar script will not work? If work, use it.

Hello everyone, sorry for my recent severe inactivity on this site. I just want you all to know that my project is still up and running smoothly. I have a beta tester and a new artist on board now, so hopefully it should make life a little bit easier for me. :) With regards to the new demo that is being released in June, here are some new updates.

 

-Overworld now uses the Mode7 script.

-Complete overhaul of soundtrack. The music is so good, you might just want to hit F12 to pause and listen to it. :lol:

-Brand new spritesets that I did myself. No more chibi RTP sprites!

-Battle system has still basically remained the same. I'm just waiting for an add-on, but it's taking forever... :(

@Agckuu: As for FPLE, I sent MGC a pm on how to implement treasure chests and stairwells, and he was still working on it. So this script won't be used until perhaps even the final release...

Btw, do you think you could lend me a helping hand for that battle script? You know what one I'm using, and I posted a similar reply under Atoa's CBS at rmvxp.com, but he's taking so long with it. Could you help me? Please?

Hey there everyone. This project is not dead yet!

 

Updates:

 

-Removed the Mode7 script. It was causing too much lag.

-Added a new main menu that supports up to 8 party members, though I only use 5.

-Battle system can support up to 5 party members now!

-Reworked all the maps.

-2 more party members become playable, bringing the total to 7.

-Gameplay time has been extended to around 6-8 hours.

There's a ton of updates going over there. You can see by my number of posts that that is my most active site. ^^ Of course, it will also introduce you to the lesser known Phantasy Star RPG series, and why I prefer it over Final Fantasy. I'm only referring to the classic games, of course. I hate the new ones like Universe and Zero. You can also view some gameplay vids over there.

 

Updates:

 

- I'm working with a very accomplished musician to make a full custom soundtrack for my game. So no music rips from other games, it is specially composed for my game. He volunteered to do it for me.

- I'm in the process of redrawing all the cutscenes. The airbrushing wasn't as good as I'd hoped it to be, so I'm using a simpler, more distinctive graphical style.

I've been watching this off and on for a while. Can hardly wait to try the demo, and if it's any goods at all, (and the reviews so far make it sound fantastic) I want to be right in line when the full release is ready (whatever it costs.) Phantasy Star III was my favorite game of all time, and I only had a short chance to try IV. From what I've seen so far, yours looks beter than Sega.

Not dead yet, Kiriashi. I'm back after a veeeery long hiatus, and I bring excellent news, as well as some new screenshots. :D Sorry for my absence, but I was busy on the fan-site where my game is hosted. I assure you that I am extremely dedicated to this project and will never abandon it.

 

@Cabbie: Yeah, this game is waaaay better than the 1993 original Phantasy Star 4, all because I changed the protogonist. ^^

You're not the only one who has told me my game could give Sega a run for their money.

 

There is finally a demo available for release! I'll add it to the first post of this topic.
