Setting: Vatican city, 2013

Adam's life changes when he start to receive strange visions in his dreams. He dream about a man in a prison who tries to warn Adam, and tells him to flee while he can. Not much later Adam understands why the man told him to flee, and is forced to leave his family and his home. He soon discover that living in the streets of Vatican city is more dangerous than he believed. Especially when he is hunted by an ancient community of great wealth and with more power than the publicity knew. Hunted for unknown reasons, by an unknown enemy.

The Shadows of the dark cell hid the mans face.

"Run, escape while you can!" his breathy voice screamed.

And suddenly Adam woke up from the dream. His heart was beating faster than usual. He got up from the bed and dressed quickly. it was still many hours to sunrise, so he walked up to the window and gazed out.

Far away, he could see St. Peters church rising majestic above the roofs of the Vatican. the sky was dark and no stars shone. Suddenly, the peace was broken by a siren. a caravan of four black ware-cars drove into the street and over to his house where they stopped.

"what the hell?" Adam thought.

the car-doors opened and out of each, four heavily armed soldiers appeared. they ran towards his house with their weapons ready.

While hearing the entrance door in the floor below being broke in, Adam searched his room for a Baseball-cudgel. he should have done as the man in the dream told him to, to run, before it's too late.

he had no idea why these soldiers were here, but he didn't like the look of their firearms.

i need your opinions on something. should i use the tilesets i have and go on with the game event though they do not perfectly fit together? or should i wait and keep searching (and practicing) in the hope that one day i will find (or be able to create) all the tilesets i need?

 

what do you think?

tilesetting is not that hard, just long... really long, if you can not find a tileset spriter then you're basically somewhat screwed at a quick fix.

 

other than that you have decide on your own man =] i think they're good from the screenies, but if you want to make improvements then make them lol.

You should definitely continue using the tilesets you have. Do not wait, otherwise your project will more than likely fail. This is quite common on the forums, a lack of resources unnecessarily preventing the continuation of project. So just go for it.

 

If your tiles need re-adjusting however(not sure what you mean by not fitting together) then that should be easy to fix, as long as they are 32x32 tiles.

Valdred, where should I begin?

 

First off, the first thing that draws me to a game is presentation, and I have some constructive criticism for you there:

 

1. I cannot express enough how important proper grammar techniques are. There are multiple sentence fragments, capitalization errors, and many other syntax errors in general. To top it off, the title of the thread is "Blood of the gods," not "Blood of the Gods." Which is what I believe it is meant to be.

2. The layout isn't my cup of tea. I understand that this isn't a finished project thread, but a little could be done with the layout to draw in a larger crowd. I see that people seemed to be having trouble with the [s p o i l e r] tag (spaces omitted), but I believe that has been fixed now, seeing as how I have used it in multiple posts.

 

Hi :)

 

 

For the good stuff, I like the "meat" of the game so far. The story intrigues me as do the characters. However, one thing I would like to see is a menu or battle system, or at least a mention of what type of each will be implemented. I am a scripter, so I love to see a game's "systems."

 

Besides that, keep up the good work, I will play the demo when it is released, and tell you how I feel about it then.

Reorganizing my post right now, i'll fix my gramar and make things look better. Also i will add some info about the Battle system.

 

My excuse for my grammar is that i am Norwegian and still studying at school.

Wow. Looks better an better each day now, man. Really can't wait for a demo now :D . The screenshots are looking very good. Only one problem; the crashed cars. You gotta have it to scale, man, the cars are the same ones I use for Hope Afloat but I've shrunk the cars quite a bit. In a few of your screenshots you have this big-ass car and then this tiny, little crashed car. I think I like this game a lot because it kinda reminds me of "Outlaw City". The storyline and everything sounds awesome as well. Also, I can't see screenshots 3 and 4.

 

Any idea when a demo will be ready? Good work, man :alright: .

wow, your right, that car is way to small. can't believe i didn't notice that.

 

I have gotten pretty far on mapping the city in general now and the Intro is almost finished. The battle system is still not configured 100% and i need to complete a few charactersets too. demo might be ready within two weeks if i'm very lucky. :biggrin_002:
