In your opinion, what's the saddest moment in a video game you've seen?

To be honest, the saddest thing...that actually made me cry abit was E-102y Gamma's story and ending in Sonic Adventure...it was so sad.

To be honest I really have to agree. Really, it's quite hard for a video game to make someone cry, compared to say a movie.

Well, in Quintessence, at the beginning before he goes back in time when Lunair dies and then later on where, *SPOILTER* Kaire dies... :( It's so sad... A really teary moment.

 

Or, when I was around 11, I cried at the part of Pokemon Mystery Red Rescue Team where your character is returning to the human world and all the pokemon, including your best pokemon friend, are crying their eyes out. That was such a sad part...

Persona 3, Minato (Main Character/Protragonist) saves the world on the 31st of January 2010, yes that was yesterday in RL peeps...

 

And he dies a few months later in Aegis (Robot girl lover of his) on her lap, living just long enough to fufil the promise of meeting up after Mitsuru and Akihiko's graduation at Gekkoukan High. Seriously, the sexiest pimp in the world dying... that should be illegal.

Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, when you find out that Koholint Island is nothing but a dream...and then (2 dungeons later) you watch as the island vanishes after you wake up the Windfish...that was by far the saddest part of any video game I've encountered. (The happiest, just to throw it out there, is when Midna is revived at the end of Twilight Princess)

The end of FFVII Crisis Core. Not just for the for the no longer human part that Hebi mentioned, but because I had grown attached to Zack, and he died :(

When you just arrive at the RV that Claire is sleeping in, you can choose not to go in or go in. Either way, depending on what you try to convince Stephanie to say to her, she'll forgive Stephanie for what she did. And then she passes away, and Stephanie is crying...

Also somewhere in Advance Wars: Days of Ruin where that Dr. Morris guy made you think Isabella died...just made me wanna reach in that game and punch him. XD

Can't decide if it should be this one or Crisis Core. I went with this one simply because I saw Zack's death 8 years ago when I beat the original FF7.
