:D looking good Crimson

Here I've messed around with the pre-made rmxp tilesets and altered their appearance. These are just tests so it's not perfect

Slightly darker toned

looks good, trees arent too compact and not too far away from each other, all I'd say is add some more details like bushes, flowers grass patches or of the sort

Nanou-gr, I'm not a great mapper, but the water should be a little more circle. Would you like the circle autotile for the water? :)

And the trees are too "in line" if you know what I mean....? Make them more random, you know? :)

More dirt and grass -- and flowers -- will help your map too! ^.^

@Yourmap:

What I meant in the last post about the trees, was "forests aren't neat, they are packed with trees. There are barely places to walk (I live in a stretch of forest of of Daniel Boone National Forest)". Try to smush more trees in and give just enough walk way for trees. For the water, use one of the below and make it stretch out a little more, like arms -- or rivers.

And then on the third layer or event it through the graphic eventing, add something on top of the water. You should also add natural borders to the forest, so a player doesn't just hit the edge of a map and it just stops...if that makes sense? :sweatdrop:

Finally, on the dirt path where the house is, you should add some rocks or something, like dead plants or whatnot. And then you fill in the forest with some wild-life, like animals and plants.

And don't forget the grass! The forests in KY have grass everywhere, especially in forests. :biggrin_002:

Also, to fix the shadow thing on your trees, import them again and then use the left click for the background color and the right click on the shadows of the trees/objects. ;)

Sorry for the late reply! Deary me, where have my manners gone!? I thought no one posted in this thread.

Here you go. Everything rounded, ragged, and everything else:

=======================================

Well, I've been hard at work on my game! And its coming along nicely! I've gotten a few maps done, but most of the time has been spent bettering my skill. And with the help of various people, I have accumulated these new skills, which will hopefully make my mapping better.

Here is another part of the forest I was creating. Where a lot of people usually gather, so I tried to keep that in mind. There is a clan in the town west of it that often "gathers" to this part to ward off the eastern monsters (they aren't very successful though :P). There is more to the map, I just can't get to all xD

Is there a way to make the light beams stop following the player? Or is it supposed to move like that...?

(Yes, you can walk under and above the bridge xD)

Fixed graphical errors in the last maps. Figured out how to stop the light from following the player, but can't get the right size of light. :sweatdrop:

Here is a view of another town in my game. I think I need to make it wider. Afterall, not all towns only have 10-13 people. Yes...I will make it bigger. :>

The biggest building is a fancy, fancy hotel :P

My houses suck! I can't make any other shape with this stupid tileset! Garrhhh! I'll have to add different tilesets, I suppose...

(I found something cool! If anyone is running Windows 7, got to the start bar and type "Snip". Use it for very, very easy screenshotting!)

A in-game Scene of Silver Dragons, a gift for a friend.

The game is set in somewhere like modern-japan style.

Not bad Decadenttia. One thing. Those walls in the center look kind of odd there. Thats where all my attention is being pulled towards.

Okay....I'm experimenting with different house sets in the one I used above. What do you guys think? Matches, or not? I can change the roof color easily, if need be. I have the same on in Burgundy...

(If the houses match with everything else, I will redo the houses on the map and make them look better. For right now, I'm experimenting xD)

Bigace, add flowers and other objects to your forest. It's just a bunch of trees right now. Most forests have flowers and wild grass.

I decided that it (the different houses) matches enough for now. The complete red houses were terribly unmatching though, so I decided to go half way and I think it looks good and different without looking too different.

What do you guys think?
