Marked 197 Report post Posted October 16, 2010 This was a blog entry a made a couple of days ago, and due to the lack of response there, I want to get this idea and therefore get more members opinions on it. Ramenuzumaki 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2010 I think its a good idea Marked! Personally I have to read the name in my head "RPG Maker VX. nope not that one. RPG Maker XP. THERE!" I have already used the Prefixing option in my assignment thread. I am not sure about my Script Problem thread though. Another way we can reduce confusion is by forcing people to use a prefix or else the post wont go through. We could have three: XP, VX, General. Or something. that way in the intro threads you wont have to introduce yourself with an XP or VX prefix. I am for the idea. ONE VOTE!
Ecowolfsteen 14 Report post Posted October 16, 2010 Honestly, I see no point in why people are making this so complex. It's not at all. Why can't newbies get it, when I was a newbie I even got it. They just need to think more.

Or something. that way in the intro threads you wont have to introduce yourself with an XP or VX prefix. This is exactly how the system works at the moment. Originally it was broken and would allow members to post without a prefix, and to my surprise, no one used prefix even when I placed a reminded in red right in front. The ability to force members to use prefixing is the foundation of this system. Honestly, I see no point in why people are making this so complex. It's not at all. Why can't newbies get it, when I was a newbie I even got it. They just need to think more. I agree. Nevertheless, its how things are. However there is a strange feature of the current structure. That is specific engine forums (eg RMXP support) and then there are forums for all engines (eg Script Requests), so there is a little bit of inconsistency there. A merger would clean it right up. My only concern is the lack of advertising for out other engines. For example, would member recognize we're a VX forum too? I'd make it clear though.. like engine icons on the board index to indicate we support these engines. Looks like this idea is likely to go through.
Polraudio 122 Report post Posted October 16, 2010 Its a good idea. To solve one of the cons or both of the cons is to have the engine names in the description.
