Halloween: What are YOUR plans?

Recommended Posts

Halloween is one of my favourite holidays, because I love to be scared and I love all that spooky stuff. So every year, I try to do SOMETHING even if I don't go trick-or-treating anymore. (Though I admit, since I haven't grown an inch in height since the LAST time I went trick-or-treating, I have considered going out again anyway for free candy xD)

This year we're checking out Halloween Haunt at Canada's Wonderland, and we might head down to Wilno to check out the "ghost" at Buck Hill Road. Last time we went, some college kids were having a party there and we didn't see anything, so it'd be nice to check it out when everything is a bit quieter. Here's a bit of info on it and some "witness accounts" here: http://www.pararesearchers.org/index.php?/20080806561/Ghosts-Hauntings/Buck-Hill-Ottawa-Valley-Ghost-Lights.html

Personally given my last experience there, I think that most people who go there are either drunk or easily frightened and just see the oncoming headlights of other cars and think it's the lantern. But, I've heard of people having car problems when their car was perfectly fine, or technology just going out of whack (like wristwatches or cameras), and it certainly is creepy even if you don't see a ghost because of the writing on the trees. If I remember correctly, there was two trees that had writing that looked like the tree had just grown that way: one said "daddy, daddy," and the other said "where are you?"

There was a third tree that said "I'm coming," but it was obviously spray painted on.

SO. That's my plans/possible plans... what's everyone else planning on doing, if anything? :)

I saw something on failbook where a guy said he was gonna dress up like thee grim reaper, tap on the windows of nursing homes and wave to the people. My town has 5 nursing homes within walking distance and I already have the costume bought.

I plan on going to my school mixer, winning some contests, and dancing. I also might laze around with my friend at home, too. I have no idea, I'm so lazy nowadays.

Here we celebrate November 1st day as "All Saints Day".

People visit cemeterys to clean up their family graves, visit them ..etc.

Youngers prefer dressing up like your halloween costums and party everywhere, so the controversy christianity tradition / halloween party is always strong in Spain.

For me, the best is about horror props that shops use for decoration and the fact you can buy skull-type toys in several places.

About my plans, in the last years I usually pick some of my favorite dark fairytales books and read them in a candlelight room at 12 o' clock.

Yes I'm spanish. (Catalonia, at north east of the country).

In catalonia we celebrate "la castanyada" at october 31. Something like.. chestnut day. Our tradition is about an old fashionated grandma selling roast chestnuts.

Sounds enjoyable. The only Mexican/Spanish holidays I have ever experienced are El Dia de Los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) and Cinco de Miyo (The fifth of may) Think i spelled Miyo wrong. Might be Mio. Or not.
