violentpurge09 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) RAIN, CYCLE 1 *EDIT NOV 29 1. The game storyline / The game synopsis - Nature is trying to take back the plane for itself. The elementals of water have finally came together. This has caused forced evolution in every living thing. 2. The game’s main characters - *INSERT YOUR NAME HERE* Will you side with Water, a different elemental or will it be fate that determines what abilities you gain. 3. The Script(s) and System(s) your game will be using - RPGMAKER 2K3... hhhmm no scripting credits. SWEET Custom level system - Classless, Skill based. 4. Full credits for anyone who was involved in your project or used content from SOUNDTRACK - Cant give that away yet... this is not a spoiler. Charas.EX for most sprites. 5. Some screenshots of your project (Not a necessity, but should be present) NONE AT THE MOMENT 6. The team making the game, if any Violentpurge & MAYBE YOU ORIGINAL POST It seems this would be the place for this. IDK how many of you have used it before. but there are certain things that you cannot do with XP without scripting (and i am so to lazy for that.) that you can do with 2K3. This has caused me to switch gears with RAIN which name has been changed to RAIN, Cycle 1. I will be posting images to this topic as they become available. Im believing i might have came across something big here. Stay in touch - ViolentPurge09 Edited November 29, 2010 by violentpurge09

CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted November 27, 2010 (edited) Your using 2003 for your game? I loved that system... :( What's your game about? Is there a topic around here I can read? Edited November 27, 2010 by CrimsonInferno

violentpurge09 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2010 ATM this is the place to see stuff about it... What its about evolution. What happens when the giver of life poisons the world? very open ended classless skill based.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted November 27, 2010 So its about the creator of people killing (poisoning) his/her peoples, correct?
violentpurge09 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2010 (edited) What if in one moment all the water on earth turned against man. But man is mostly made up of water... so those that survived have adapted to this through evolution. Which brings up the point of Skills. ATM there are 5 Base Skills and 15 Other skills * 51 Skills(All which level). With up to Six Skill at any one time as shown in the Image. This will cover all forms of special attacks. which both the player an enemies have... You will gain abilities from your surroundings also as you adapt to your surroundings. Level 1 and 2 abilities are safe from this. *EDIT NOV 29 Edited November 29, 2010 by violentpurge09
FranklinX 37 Report post Posted November 27, 2010 I am very confused about what your game is about. I suggest you look at other project threads to see how other members post their projects. This will make people understand your project a lot better.

Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted December 3, 2010 VP Always has an interesting perspective on games. When he releases a demo, I'm sure it will be worth playing, despite the lack of info. I vouch for this guy.

violentpurge09 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) What do you think of Game world history... if you walked into a library in a game and there was over a dozen books about the game world. most of which has no actual game value. Would you see this as a waste of the makers time or interesting fluff? would you read the books? Edited December 7, 2010 by violentpurge09

violentpurge09 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2010 You've made games before, VP? :o True Story... Warlock: Escape from exile Google it. there is a timing bug that doesn't let you get past the first island... which cuts out like 90% of the game... do lets say that version is a demo. and there are glitches with battles. in 2k3. every game i start with XP i seem to get sidetracked. or figure out something major then lose interest. CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted December 7, 2010 Wow, that's cool you've made a finished game before! :D I'd still be using 2003 if it wasn't for the restrictions it has... I can't wait to hear more of this game though! :

Crym 10 Report post Posted December 9, 2010 Personally I'd love that, to me it not only shows extreme dedication but it also is a good way not only to put game's world history, but also Easter eggs and development notes on the progress of the game like a journal of the progress of the game put in the game. There's another possibility doing this which is to put something of real history, or even real science, not all books in a library are history books some are science, fantasy, lore, romance, or stat-enhancing. I'm not saying that all are required but some variation does help, of course if your game is based in a fantasy world your history and fantasy books would be switched. As far as science books go it could be based around the kinds of creatures living in the world and possibly give information on some creatures weaknesses, strengths, and hp as well as the types of attacks they use, something that would have value towards the game to help with battles and, would have an entertainment value. As for the lore this could be more to talk about the customs and life of cities or even countries that are in the world, also talking about their local legends hero's of the past of dark beasts that once terrorized the people. As for romance just put any sappy crap there you want since reading about it is one thing that really seems pointless. To the stat enhancing books it could be rare books that could possibly add to a certain stat but doesn't work again after the first use. Though thinking about the time and work required to do this it would probably be pointless to do more than a paragraph or two. Truthfully having shelves filled with books and possibly having more than one book (work it with a variable pretty easy to do) in each section of the shelf would not only boggle my mind at the complexity but would also have me bouncing around in a chair squealing like a piggy as I love to read so this sort of thing would be amazing. Sure these books wouldn't be required by the storyline but is would be something nice to add especially since having numerous books would add to the replay value as many people would likely skip over them their first time through. I hope that answered your question. 2 violentpurge09 and Arkbennett reacted to this

Crym 10 Report post Posted December 10, 2010 Yes. I like Crym. Aw that's nice, I like you too Ark. XD Okay, time to say something of relevance. Violent, if you would like I could work with you to put together a puzzle that has to do with the library. I've been working on a new idea for an extended book cipher where normal book ciphers have 3 numbers [page number - line number - word in that line] I've worked it much further to include [book index - page number - line number - word on that line - letter in that word] the book index of course being shelf horizontal and shelf vertical. This way you could encrypt hidden messages or passwords that unlock a door. I was doing this originally for my main project but I've put that on hold till I learn a bit more about scripting. Sounds like it could be good. let me contemplate things. i recently introduced a friend of mine to XP so we might be doing an XP game. which i would still like to involve a massive library.
