Okay so I was on Facebook and ran into a certain page that a bunch of extremely uncensored photos of dead people. I feel like really sick now, and I think I'll report them. The fucked up part about it was that it was a band fan page so that band is going to be linked to it even though they had nothing to do with it! I mean, we've all seen dead people in media but man, that was just too raw for the public. It makes me glad that America's media is censored to a degree.

That goes unnoticed a lot. There are naked pictures as well, some even of children by (and I hope I don't upset anyone) Pedophiles....

 

Its sad. I tried reporting it once, but me and my mother were told "its their right". :/

Errmm... what? It most certainly is not their right. You may not display nudity without a warning. And you most CERTAINLY may not post naked images of minors.

I just watched a documentary on polygamy and how it came about. The guy who started it got caught cheating with all these women by his wife right, and his excuse was 'god told me to do it' so now these people believe that god wants men to have like 10 wives. Like woman actually beleive that its gods will so they do it. This is relevant because GEEZ the world is so screwed up and I just give up on it completely.

I told myself and I told Ark when I first seen this topic yesterday that I wasn't gonna post on it. But now that I see it again, I have too. I honestly see no problem with it. It's the internet, your gonna see things like this or worse things all over the place. To report it or complain about it is as stupid as the kid and his mom on COD that said they was gonna report me because I told him to shut the **** up and that I couldn't stand his voice and a bunch of other stuff I said. WELCOME TO THE INTERNET! Either way I see no problem with it. If you don't like it or if it offends you, go to a different page and don't go back. That is how I see it. To complain or report it. Stupid....

 

@Ark - That is because Polygamy is what the Mormon religion uses.

I agree with Wyzrd. I understand where you are coming from Broken Messiah.

However, middle aged moms all over the U.S. have done everything they can to "protect their children" by crippling content on the TV, Radio, and other mediums. The internet has no rules, and it can not be controlled in this way.

It does give me a level of satisfaction to know this.

I honestly think that parents go to far to protect their children in some aspects, let them find out what the real world is like rather than try to hide it from them, by putting censors on everything it's doing nothing but making the problem worse. I agree complaining about something online is stupid, its the internet don't like it then just ignore it and act like it never happened, but it will repeated time and time again stupid of not.

 

In my opinion (which I am entitled to as this is the interwebs) a large portion of the problem comes from the "holier than thou bible beaters" who think that just cause you don't go to church every Sunday that your a satanist and going to hell

 

People who do stuff like this are those that are just seeking attention and don't care what kind they get, as far as what they did they have no respect for decent people but, rather than acknowledge them I'd rather just ignore it and act as though nothing ever happened.

Something that's really to be taken into consideration here is that nine times out of ten, the pictures are faked on some graphic editing software. I've seen people in real time do a lifelike portrait of someone in MS Paint(looked like a photo), so to think that pictures of dead bodies could be faked is not hard to believe. Even if it takes us by surprise, and we may not agree with the subject matter, it's generally a ploy by a person with severe psychological trauma; it's not unheard of for cases like this to be seen as threats to society and watched by law enforcement, truthfully these cases are most of the time harmless kids or immature adults who just want attention probably caused from having a bad child hood growing up without the attention of caring parents but rather the abusive attention of drunks and sluts who usually would forget that they were even there. They are probably addicted to the attention because they at some point got a small amount of attention and suddenly became overwhelmed. Either way as far as the pictures go ignore them if you don't look at them they don't hurt you, really the way the world is these days we should be immune to blood, guts, and gore which over all movie media has led everyone to tie in with death.

I agree with Wyzrd, but there's another side. Yes its the internet but these days everyone is using it. Nearly everybody uses facebook and soon even them silly little children will be using it, so don't you think some level of censorship is necessary? I'm afraid this type of thing will ruin the internet for everyone. For example, my government was talking about blocking some kinds of websites. That I find that absolutely ridiculous.

 

Parents should be able to censor certain content in their own homes, and it is necessary.

I agree with some censorship in the home, that's what parental controls are for. Though some people don't even realize you can set up a child block on your own computer to stop some web-pages from loading of course it wont get them all but, some of it is known to stop pages from loading if it even has a meta-tag promoting something they don't want kids viewing. This is used in a lot of the schools at least where I live that doesn't stop some people since you can bypass the blocks using a proxy, if parents are that concerned about hiding their kids from the world then they need to be there watching them when they are online or watching TV even.

 

 

Really I still think that censoring everything causes a huge problem because when you hide something from kid's or from someone in general even subconsciously they want it that much more and then they are more likely to go behind your back. Mostly the only one's that have any sense are the ones that didn't have every little thing hidden from them.

 

 

There's a such thing as over protective, no I'm not talking about wearing to many condoms, I'm talking about the doting mother that has the whole house covered in Styrofoam is over protective, the father who put's channel blocks on anything rated PG+ when he has teen's, the mother who asks 10 million questions before you walk out the door to get something from the car, that's over protective.

Protection when it's needed, baby proof the house when you have a baby not a 17 year old, set the channel blocks to hide things you don't want to see (chances are if you don't want to see it your kids don't need to). Censorship is more of a punishment in my opinion, sure it's needed when it's needed but online there's practically nothing that can be done other than setting up site-blocker to block out all the porn, gore and, drug references.

 

 

No reason to censor everything for everybody just because one person doesn't like it, sure things that are completely immoral like pedophilia, bestiality and, necrophilia should be censored to an extreme point just because it is really fully and totally immoral, not cause its gross or disgusting but because it's abusive, disrespectful and demeaning to anyone or thing that shows up in content like that.
