We'll to get back into practice with mapping and eventing and pretty much using RMXP all together I'm considering doing a game using only the RTP, no custom scripts, no custom graphics, no custom music, and probably what will be a really REALLY horrible story (unless someone wants to contribute a story). I'm not really doing this as a main project just something mostly for practice. I'll start working on this pretty soon, I don't really like the RTP stuff but I figured that if you can make something good with it then you're golden when it comes to using custom graphics.

 

As it stands I'm not sure if I will be doing anything to the database, I sort of consider it as part of the RTP but that's debatable. Any opinions on if you consider the default filled out database as part of the RTP or would you consider it like the event screen something to modify?

 

Let me know your thoughts and opinions, I'll be keeping this topic updated with the progress of this small RTP game if anyone is interested.

 

I am taking suggestions for a short story, perhaps one that touches on every cliche possible just for humor.

Can't blame me I get bored.

Wow I hadn't thought of that, I will definitely take that into consideration. This may be a smash hit even with RTP graphics. I'm thinking I'll make it so that the story isn't consistent as well so you could do one thing then suddenly turn around and do something different. Wow, Broken your post has actually got me excited about working on this flop.

 

I'm still taking suggestions on the story for this, and I'll have updates later with some information on what I intend to accomplish with this.

you should give a semi serious story, but everything is weird, and no one is actually serious.

kinda like in the Mario RPGs and stuff.

Well, to start off with I've already started working on the story a bit and I'm keeping it in the follow every cliche possible.

WARNING, DO NOT READ! Ah who am I kidding go ahead not like I'll know anyway. Anyone who wants to add something to this feel free.

 

 

I have one character who's entire thought process is save the world in fact as soon as you meet him he will talk about how he's on a quest to save the world (even though the world isn't in any danger at all(for the time being).

Also going to have the lonely girl, the typical take in any stray's that she see's type.

Then there's amnesia, a character who doesn't know where he is (lonely will just assume he has amnesia and will keep trying to hit him on the head to jar his memory).

I'll also going to have the typical villain/rival whom continues to fight the team for no apparent reason.

Then there's slime who's sick of being a bad guy that keeps getting sliced up just because he can regenerate his "body".

 

There will also be the typical twists of betrayal and world domination with powers of god.

The story will follow the typical 4 magic stones in 4 temples with 4 guardians protecting them and the group never gets them in time.

 

 

Its a work in progress I should have more to update with tomorrow.

I'll add that to the list, I hadn't thought of that.

 

 

 

Okay, working on a short small minor story line, I'll be doing a select character screen at the beginning to select a character so till a certain point the story will be different depending on the character, some character's however wont be available to select like the slime and the newly added disaster pet.

So far though after the characters all team up they will have the find the Mystic Sword of Mystical Magic and Sharpness, will will be able to harness the power of the stones. After getting the sword they will set out seeking the stones which are of course protected, the first of the stone will be the Stone of Earth (yes they are all of elements) which leaves one of the "smarter" members of the team to just pick up a pebble off the ground and state they found it, eventually after giving the genius a boot-to-the-head they set out to the Cave of Earth where the real stone resides, they fight the Guardian of Stone and then realize the Stone of Earth is missing, so it's on to the next cave so on like that.

 

 

I'll have that elaborated a bit more in a few days actually working in characters.

 

So more idea's to make this the most absurd game ever, please remember it will all be done with RMXPs RTP.

you should use civilian-11 or something.

You should read the  manga Last Fantasy, it'll really help with this type of thing and its hysterical. One remember thing was when two main characters had to fight a dragon in front of their village and jumped out the way to save themselves and the vilage was destroyed lol.

Last Fantasy is that a web comic? I'm interested now.

I've not had much time today to work on anything much I've been doing some minor scripting for my main project here and there since I've been cleaning this morning.

I'm not sure about the really annoying character that doesn't contribute, since all of the characters are going to be annoying in their on way and also all of them will be incompetent fools who some how just stumble through everything like bumbling idiots who just seem to get lucky.

I'll have to of course have at least one serious character, it seems that one serious guy traveling with a group of idiots who just seem to piss him off is rather hilarious to me anyways. I'll try to get some sort of update going soon.

Okay, new question for all those that want to see the spoof game. I was considering doing it in RMXP but, I recently got RMVX just to mess around with. Which do you think would be more interesting to see this done in, RMXP or RMVX? If I can find my old back up disks I have the older RPG Makers as well so that may be a possibility.

I'll give this question about a week before I tally up the results. Just got to tell which one and why, and yes I'm still accepting ideas for the story.

Hm, Manga Fox. I love this site I was reading Mahou Sensei Negima on there. I'll be reading for the next day or two I guess hopefully I'll get some inspiration here. Oh, Kwon Yong-wan, I think I'm familiar with his work not sure though not read to many manhwa lately. Wish I had more time to read but, I keep filling my time up with various events with family and such.
