Crym 10 Report post Posted December 11, 2010 Hey, as active as I am on here past few days I have started to see a random 404 error show up when loading pages here, usually reloading the page 2 or 3 times will load the page but for awhile it had me a bit confused. I don't have trouble with any other page so I don't think it's a problem with my connection. Anyone else getting this problem from time to time?
Bob423 52 Report post Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) I've had the same problem, It's not the connection, the site just "messed up" some sites will do that. it's not always something that can be fixed though. Edited December 11, 2010 by Bob423

Crym 10 Report post Posted December 11, 2010 I know about that since I've done web admin and run a site with issues like this before, I was able to fix them pretty easily but it was never something that was happening all the time like it is today.
Crym 10 Report post Posted December 11, 2010 I received an error this morning that the site was down. An hour later the site was back up. I don't think the site was actually down as I got the error again not even an hour ago. It's just a glitch in the server I believe, should be a quick fix that would actually take the site down for about an hour. Other than how much it can be a deterrent to new members it is also a nuisance. I don't believe that this is good for the site community either, I was just by chance trying to load 3 different pages in the forums here and one of them loaded without an error. isaacsol 10 Report post Posted December 11, 2010 It was due to problems paying the webhost, they were having issues with my bank. It has all been sorted and the 404 errors should be gone by tomorrow hopefully. Sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused.

Ah, it was no worries really since it didn't really change much for me as I'm having connection issues now my wireless keeps shutting off and it's starting to get to me. It was a bit weird getting the 404 like that though since I've only gotten that problem when I was closing my site before and people was getting in some last minute talk time and downloads. Marked 197 Report post Posted December 12, 2010 404 errors are related to websites not internet connections, so you can be certain its not on your end when you get them.
Bob423 52 Report post Posted December 12, 2010 usually, a 404 error is broken link. Or, a road that leads to a brick wall.
Crym 10 Report post Posted December 12, 2010 I know what a 404 error is, I was just commenting that I was also having connection troubles earlier on top of the 404 errors making it nearly impossible to actually access the site, could do it but took a few reloads. I had to completely shut down the home network and reconfigure everything to get it to stay stable which is a first, maybe I can actually log onto MSN for a change now. I'm just glad that the 404 error problem has been worked out and would personally like to thank those involved in fixing the minor problem associated with why I went to sleep early this morning. Marked 197 Report post Posted December 12, 2010 Haha, well you can thank isaacsol. You can also force 404 errors on your site, I don't though  Topic closed.
