FranklinX 37 Report post Posted June 22, 2011 Hi everyone! I'm making my own website to make a quick buck! It won't be easy. I think I have a good business plan. I do have some questions. 1. Do I need a business license to an affiliate? 2. I really like Wordpress. Can I combine it with a website builder or template?
Mikuri 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2011 You can costumize your wordpress like you want. And isn't wordpress already a site builder? Like with plug-ins and widgets, you can do anything you want with it. For the license, I don't get it. Get it to run and that's pretty much all.

Marked 197 Report post Posted June 22, 2011 If you're using the term 'business' loosely and just plan to exchange simple goods or services then I don't think you need any formal license or anything like that. What's your business idea? You can trust me. :)
Mikuri 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2011 Yes. I already have a host. Your own server or a free/paid one on the Web? Any link if on the Web?

Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) Hi everyone! I'm making my own website to make a quick buck! It won't be easy. I think I have a good business plan. I do have some questions. 1. Do I need a business license to an affiliate? This question is poor at best which will result in no real full answer. See from this question it sounds like you want to start an Affiliate Website Business. Which you will need a license to some degree. Even if you don't have employes or plan to sell actual items (which would require a Sellers Permit) you will still need to fill out paper work. Also if you plan on naming your business something other than your last name (i.e. Pirritano Studios; this uses my last name so I would not need to file a DBA) for example, Double Punch Studios. Then you would need to file a DBA (which is Doing Business As) which tells people that you, 'your last name here' are doing business under this name. I can give you more information if you wish, just send me a PM if you do not wish to give out your idea for guests to see. I can give you better advice if I know exactly what you want to do and the State you live in; cause every states business laws are different. FranklinX 37 Report post Posted June 24, 2011 Can I get this paper work online? I named the business my last name. I live in Tennessee.
Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted June 24, 2011 Yes you can, but it may or may not cost money, depends on the exact business you wish to start, etc. I suggest http://www.legalzoom.com/ as I have used them before for filings a DBA. They deal in many legal documents and you can even tell them the exact business you wish to start and they will tell you if you need to file any type of paper work and how much it will cost. http://www.legalzoom.com/customer-support/customer-support.html Remember it takes money to make money!
