Music from your country

Recommended Posts

I'm really interested in foreign bands and I listen to allot of artists that sing in languages other than English. I feel that people who limit themselves to music in English (or whatever language they speak) are missing out severely, because the best music I've heard isn't in my language.

So, I thought it would be a nice idea for people to share music from their country, or if you are familiar with artists foreign to their homeland than you people should also share!

Here are some of my favorite foreign artists at the moment:

There's kind of allot there but it's all quality music that is worth listening to. I would love it if you would also share some foreign artists or some music from your country.

Oh man, thank you! I love new music, and I agree with you on the foreign/foreign-language music thing completely.

It's going to take me a bit to listen to these!

I always enjoy hearing something new, no matter where it's from.

Lately I have been listening to a lot of electronica, so it generally lacks lyrics, but I do have some musicians that I would like to share here.

The Mars Volta - USA (however they do a lot of spanish music, this song specifically is sung in mostly spanish)

L'Via L'Viaquez

Windir - Norway

Todeswalzer

Unexpect (they are actually from my country) - Canada

@Kellessdee: I LOVE The Mars Volta! They're one of my favorite bands. I didn't even think to add them to the list. (probably because I'm Dominican and though I don't speak Spanish, Spanish music is very familiar to me since everyone in my family listens to it including me.

@Madanchi: That song is really nice, it kind of reminds me of Celtic Women's version of Walking in the Air

I thought of a couple more.

In Flames-Sweden (possibly, I forgot where they're from to be honest and since their music is in English it's difficult for me to guess but Sweden sounds right.)

Dir En Grey-Japan

I think Japanese music have some of the best videos because they can completely catch you off guard at times. For example:

(before you watch this next video you should be warned, it's not for the faint of heart. It's pretty......odd)

@Madanchi: I agree, Lilium is definitely the best song I've ever heard from an anime. I enjoyed the show as well! I felt lame for posting 2 songs from animes but they're really good songs! Speaking of

LoveHolic-Korea (from Black Blood Brothers. I never got through the anime and I didn't enjoy what I did watch either but the ending theme is lovely)

@Wyzrd: I watched bleach for a little while. I stopped watching it though, it got boring. I tuned in recently and I have to say, I didn't enjoy myself. I can't exactly put my finger on it but something was different...
