Script / Support Request Guidelines

Question

Rules of Requesting!!~

Rule A: If it is a script, search the Master Script Lists to ensure the script has not been made already.

Well, as many know but few seem to comprehend, there are comprehensive lists of scripts that have been made at multiple locations.

On-site Master Script List: http://www.rmxpunlim...er-script-list/

RPG Maker VX ace Script List: http://www.rpgmakerv...t-list-on-site/

Wiki Master Script List, which incorporates many sites: http://rmvxace.wikia...ter_Script_List

RMRK's Master Script List: http://rmrk.net/inde...ic,44874.0.html

Rmrk's External Site Links: http://rmrk.net/inde...ic,44876.0.html

And there are many more other sites and blogs, too many to list.

Rule B: Follow the guidelines below.

  1. Be as descriptive as possible:
    - Just because you know what you're talking about when you say "a system thing like in final fantasy" doesn't mean every will. You should provide in-depth details into what you want. As MrBubble says: The more details you can provide, the higher chance your request will be fulfilled.

  2. Use Visual aids when possible:
    - What's that? Your system has stuff that is GRAPHICALLY INCLINED? Whoa. Hey, maybe a Mock-up, Screenshot, or Video Link could help with getting what you want.
    - Don't just provide visual aids with no other descriptions. The coder will need to know exactly what they are looking for.

  3. Provide links to other scripts mentioned:
    - While it's plain to you what needs to be compatible with what, it is not to us. You mention it has to be working work with the "Miscellaneous Script that does stuff", you should also provide a link to the script, so we can see it too.
    - It should be made as easy as possible for a kind, helpful coder to aid you in your time of need. You should not expect us to go searching for everything you mention and get graphics for your script. You should do it for us.

  4. Be Humane:
    - We are volunteers. We are not paid to do this, to help you or the site or anything. we do it of our own accord.
    - Be kind and respectful to a coder who is trying to help you. If you aren't, they may just decide to not help you, and just drop it all together. They have the right to do it, and it is your own fault.
    - Patience is all important. no one likes to see a whiny guy bumping his thread with "waaah you guys suck help me make my awesome, better than your game, game". Screw that, it turns us coders away. For rules on bumping, read below.
    - Say thank you, and give proper credit.

Rule C: Only requests for VXA/RGSS3 are allowed in this section.

  1. You can ask for conversions from RGSS1/2 to RGSS3 as well in this setion.

  2. Do not ask for XP/RGSS script, or VX/RGSS2 scripts specifically. The topic will be closed. This forum is for VXA only. For XP go here, for VX go here
    .

Additional Notes:

  1. If your request is solved, you may report your topic and let us know to close it.

  2. Bumping
I will have to go with the standard rules about bumping on this

RMXP Unlimited Rules & Policies said:

(6.0) BUMPING

(6.1) WHAT IS BUMPING

Bumping can be seen as Necro-Posting, as a matter of fact, it's almost the same. On RMXP Unlimited, a bump is the action of posting a reply in a relatively active topic (not "dead"), with the sole purpose of bringing that topic to the top of the list to get attention.

"Bump a topic" means either by post, or the 'bump topic' button in a topic.

On RMXP Unlimited, you have the right to bump a topic once per 24 hours, and if after 1 month, your topic is still not getting attention, leave it die. Or your bumping will become Necro-Posting.

If you add valuable information to your own topic, like adding a reply to a script topic to specify a new version is out, it's fine and isn't against the rule, it is what is seen as a valid bump.

You can find more about bumping here:

http://en.wikipedia...._%28Internet%29

(6.2) CONSEQUENCES OF BUMPING

Bumping isn't a serious infraction. A level 1 is usually issued, but if you bump too much, it can escalate easily, as it can be seen as spamming or Necro-Posting.
