madanchi 18 Report post Posted June 2, 2013 Bloody brilliant job Marked! RMU 2.0 is the boss!
Chief 30 Report post Posted June 2, 2013 There was this logo made by Chief. He didn't quite get the name right, although I am considering changing the name back. I took a punt with changing GDU to RMU, and it turns out I was wrong. The only remaining reason I don't go back to the name GDU is because it's probably a bad look to change names once again in such a short space of time It was intentional... think of it as a nudge in a particular direction... lol
theoryoferin 2 Report post Posted June 2, 2013 It looks really great! You've clearly put a lot of hard work into this. The only [minor, aesthetic only] negative thing I would even mention is that the forums are all squished to the left with a lot of blank space to the right. If spacing it out is an option, that is literally the only thing I would change that I have seen. And that is an appearance-only "issue." Again, amazing work! Marked 197 Report post Posted June 3, 2013 Lol guys, the staff + legends have been discussing whether to switch back to GDU. The majority of us have voted in favor of remaining RMU. It's a democracy. For now. Personally I would prefer a switch back to GDU (which obviously is a mere switch logo and page titles) because it sounds better, matches the domain name and I want to use Chief's logo. Chief, can you make the same logo for RMU? The whole banner being nearly 1/2 of my laptop thing is a bit unprofessional. This site is a marvelous thing. It stands out against most IPB sites I've been too. I can tell you put time work and effort into it. Keep on trucking we can do it. I should hope so. As I recall it was your PM in 2011 that led me uncovering the secret component that makes the integration system work  We've got tons of custom stuff here now that can be expanded at any time. I'm particularly proud of my tutorial editor system which I spent a month creating. I think I said this somewhere else but what we're missing currently is the custom feedback sections: you can come here and without anyone noticing you can utilize our content sections, but there's no special place for getting feedback on your work. I think that's the next step. The only [minor, aesthetic only] negative thing I would even mention is that the forums are all squished to the left with a lot of blank space to the right. If spacing it out is an option, that is literally the only thing I would change that I have seen. Everything is an option :) Are you referring to this? If not, or you see something different, point me in the right direction and I'll get it fixed up. I actually saw some crazy spacing yesterday on Chrome in the topic listing view, but I fixed it up then. Well, I'm glad you guys like the new look. The previous design killed all of my motivation to develop the site further. You would look at it and think, this isn't a design for a site with our goals. Hopefully we're on the right track, I hate designing and I want to keep a design for more than 3 months at time :P If you guys want I can look at some color variations. Also, good to see some old members stopping by :)
theoryoferin 2 Report post Posted June 3, 2013 (edited) I took a screenshot [which I am too lazy to resize]: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/theoryoferin/ScreenShot007_zps17a159f1.png I am also using Chrome, FWIW. Marked 197 Report post Posted June 3, 2013 You thought that was a minor bug? :P Pretty disastrous. Strangely I'm not getting it, but I know to how to fix it anyway. I'm slowly making the transition from firefox to chrome.. I just can't stand Chrome's text rendering but I guess I'll forget about firefox's beauty eventually :( EDIT: *facepalm* it was my own stupid mistake that was causing the issue, I couldn't see it logged in. To make my own customizations I gotta mess with pretty messy code because of all the if statements use to accommodate moderators, so unsurprisingly I made a few mistakes. I did all the forum stuff in a day, thus the "rushed" in the topic title. Thanks for calling that out, I may have never found it on my own
theoryoferin 2 Report post Posted June 3, 2013 Hey, it was easy enough to work around. The forums still functioned with it, so I'd say that's minor. ;]
FranklinX 37 Report post Posted June 9, 2013 The new site looks amazing. It is hands down the best looking RPG Maker site. Are you still going to design the project profile idea?
Marked 197 Report post Posted June 9, 2013 Yep, but the next part up for development is the games section. It'll be a special section with integration of project management for teams and production company's. The profiles you're talking about are only really going to come if the site's activity picks up. Old member's like you choosing to remain here rather than certain other RM sites would help. I'm not going to waste my time on unused systems that take so long to develop. Profiles would be good though, I want to create a profile that is like a game dev's resume or portfolio. Possibly even something to to put on your actual resume. We're also the most advanced RM site in my opinion. If all goes to plan, we'll blow the others out of the water in that category.
