- CancelledWelcome to the GDU RPG Maker MV MMO Project This project is a WIP. Development status: Cancelled (September 2018). This project integrates GDU with our very own community project built in RPG Maker MV. GDU members access the game using their GDU account. We are currently look for members to join the development team! Check out the News section for more!

- Just to let everyone know, this project is cancelled. It may have been one of the first to achieve the "online" functionality in MV, which is super simple when you've got the benefit of JS and HTML5. I really think this maker has much more potential than the its predecessors. In any case, this project used Pusher for the web sockets and PHP as the back-end to implement into our forums database. If you're looking for MMO functionality in MV, then I suggest using this: https://github.com/Nelderson/MV_Online It looks to be actively developed by the developer, uses node.js (so you don't have to learn PHP) and is far more along than this project was.Hey guys I've made fantastic progress on the GDU MMO and now games saving successfully to our GDU database and associated with GDU accounts. The game is essentially part of the site. It was much easier than I thought it would be. I think we're pretty close to having the functionality ready to actually allow members to enter the game and make a start. They'll be able to save and commence the game as it is built. Of course, in that respect, we do need an actual game to play. So, this will be GDU's own MMO. Has anyone got ideas in terms of storyline? Shall we come up with some sort of world? Also, I am planning that the start of the game will be members designing their characters appearance and picking a class.Ok boys, Noticed that no one replied to my other blog post. So I'll let you guys have a look at what I started. I redid the code so we're linking into GDU. Use your account, play with a friend. Remember… this code is 2 years old now. http://www.gdunlimited.net/mmo/ It's simple. You can only see other users on the map and their usernames. So yeah… you need a friend to login and you can see EVERYONE who is currently online.'ello all. I've been thinking about this a bit more recently, and I think it has a lot of potential. Is anyone interested in jumping on board with some development? Here is what I'm envisioning at the moment: – I continue developemnt and fix up the system a bit, namely saving the game. – I want to get a system set up, maybe on Github somehow, where community members can develop the game and shoot up changes to go live basically immediately. Essentially the codebase would be in one central location. Is this possible? It could be truely a community-developed game.Hello! It looks like it is fast approaching 2 years since I whipped up this RMMV MMO project. One of the reason that it stalled was because it wasn’t clear to me how such a system would be viable in a proper game, particularly without limitations on the number of users appearing on the map at any one time. (and I note that one of those “m”’s stands for “massive”). I scarified the early years of my life to developing this website and so I am not very familiar with online games (except DotA, the greatest game of them all <3 but that’s not an MMO), so I thought I’d ask you guys to do some brain storming for me How would an RMMV MMO system work? How does the game deal with large numbers of players online at the same time and what purpose would it serve? […]G'day. I want to find some ppls who know their RPG's to begin the process of planning our little GDU MMO. The current system is already integrated with our member system, meaning that all members are able to log into the game with their accounts. Right now. Long term I want to create a team for development. I intend development to be very efficient in the sense that when you work on the game, in RPG Maker MV itself, changes will shoot up to the development server and changes will be seen only by running the game from that server. Therefore, development will start on a working project. Not a project which is miles away from its first tile. It should be easy to pick up where others left off, if they leave. Short term I want to map out the systems for the game. In […]Note: I have really good audio so I can hear it fine, but you'll probably need to turn your volume up and watch in full screen There are of course a few rough bits like jaggity movement and facing the wrong direction, which are easy to fix. It uses the built-in path-finder and is essentially achieves MMO functionality in terms of player movement and co-existing on the map as if there was only ever a single map to begin with D:
