Your Opinion (and assistance) on this story base
zane203 replied to zane203's topic in General Game Development
manga and anime ^_^ i have a few of the files ready for the actual animation, but im no where ready for the release of flash files of it. and as for manga, i have like a few chapters done, but im always second guessing skills and always end up redoing the 1st chapter x.X... but anyways yea im using actual characters, but im not going the whole 9 with it. Its simply the main of the main characters, with mentions of others, with a few maps of their worlds. They're basically tying into the KoS universe to exploit everything lol. and im sorry for not being able to tell you the story, i actually have to work when it comes to putting it into actual text... and im trying not to spoil to much about KoS xD -
well ok, my current project, is a collaboration of all my old projects into one. This is putting all my systems previously unfinished, and ect. The basic theme of my game is "CROSS OVER", countless anime, including my own (Kingdom of Souls), are thrown together to a tightly sealed swirl of jokes, action, gore, and heartfelt moments... (yes i'm sorry, but i just cant make a game with no gore...) anyways its built around these centers: -Kingdom of Souls: KoS deals with souls of every being, but throws plenty of elements from life and ect. But its about Gods, Devils, Angels, Demons, and hybrids, which can tie in to - Soul Eater, and 666 Satan- Bleach: Based around the hollows and how they're basically tainted souls, which ties into KoS and and Soul Eater Naruto: Based upon their tailed demons and the energy that lingers from them and so on and so on. i have countless miniquests for each world and chapter of the game, but with plenty of anime fans out there, i would like to know your opinion on seeing these animes meet lol, and any ideas you would like to see happen.

i can honestly say thats a great statement of selfcontrol... i've had my share of darkness in my past, but nothing compares to these stories... i have a few problems with anger (been in control for over 5 years now so far tho) and i can say i would have lost it... i wish nothing but a fulfilled life for you and the families... and again, i commend you on your selfcontrol and personalities...

How to stop Variables from resetting when changing maps
zane203 replied to zane203's topic in General Game Development
i hear that you can get a specific part of rgss by master eventing lol. and i noticed a lot of rgss is like conditional branches extended beyond the understanding of heaven and hell xD. anyways, you could always do what i do =o, make a comment on all the new things you create reminding you where and how you figured/learned it. and also make a .doc file with all the things you know and made. I actualy have a notebook with dividers with a lot of printed scripting material, and event materials, and things written down as theories and what not =), its the best method in my opinion =D -
How to stop Variables from resetting when changing maps
zane203 replied to zane203's topic in General Game Development
Thats what im aiming for! complete interaction with EVERYTHING xD, ah HAH! i found my mind twin! but this major project is still a practice, as this is planned to be my 1st released game fully functional =o, but i already have the next game on que which quality will determind the sucess on all the systems in KoS:TBoS =) and i'd just like to say its because of you guys that im able to extend my skills on rmxp lol. After i finish the base of the projects, i'll start shaping my scripting skills lol xD -
get " OpenOffice.org" (thats the actual name of the program, with the .org lol) its the best document program, and it can export any of its materials in ANY text format.

How to stop Variables from resetting when changing maps
zane203 replied to zane203's topic in General Game Development
aye they are captain, argh! I recently had a epiphany on how wide i could make my old systems with variables lol. I use to use tons and tons of switches with like 1 variable number. But now that i'm working on an actual "semi-serious" project, where i have to have all switches/variables organized... its kinda hard to work like i want lol. since i need a few hundred switches for the leveling systems for all the KoS characters, i couldnt afford using switches for the ZDB time/ZDB Advanced AI/ZDB control/ZDB Dynamic Map systems x.X variables = awesome, but dangerous... i just finished taking about MAJOR UBER lag just by switching some variables around... =( this is extremely annoying doing it all by yourself xD. -Thanks for reading my useless posts by the way, =o i like to keep people here lively xD -
well recently i just created a whole network of systems all connected together... and i even tested them countless times. I was successful in creating the systems and when i started testing map transitions, i noticed my variables kept resetting >_< this is a major problem that would hinder my systems useless ='( does anyone know how to keep the variables constant throughout every transition? -Thanks in advance -ZenOokami- .... think i fixed it, i used a "+" operation rather than set operation... now i just got to get the NPCs to function WITH the systems like i want too X.x ... really... i didnt expect this many bugs so soon lol... *depressed* ... lawl... fixed that too... just found out that you need to have the pages ordered correctly as the variables and switches as well... ... lol i think i wasted your memory and time(if you're reading this) just by posting before actually giving a lot of time trying to fix the problem x.X...
-
well man i like both of em, i would either ONE suggest these though -Leave as it is with your new one, Its good -Add a dark kinda feel (if you want it dark), or a glowey whiteness if you want it light -Take a screen shot of the game and put it on the lowest layer with the other layer being a overlay to have a background ; i think you'd have something awesome if you tried BUT let me just say these are just ideas i can imagine just by thinking... lol =3 non the less both of them are awesome ^_^
-
xD wow i love cake, but you guys are gonna give me diabetes x.X (semi-dark joke lawl) anyways, yeah im 17 now, im officially an old junior in high school lol. My real name is Zane Blalock, my PUBLIC alias is ZenOokami (complete Wolf) =3 again guys (even though im replying a day late - practice ran long last night) thanks for the happy wishes ^_^
-
xD wow man you just made my day =O anyways its gonna be a "hard" day cause we havnt finished our half time show for the game tomorrow x.X ... so im kinda buggin and im happy at the same time xD but again man thanks, really surprised me! xD

well look at it at an improving way, if we tell you you're good here, which you are good, you dont have much more to work on aside from your personal desire to get better for no reason, while at CA if they say, nice but needs yadda yada yadda, then you're gonna wanna prove them wrong =3 either way, negative critiques help you improve on something ^_^ *Anime Pose*

well you could always do it like this condition branch: Drunk -Conditional branch: Controls (ect) -Else: -End Else: End the problem is that the way you have it set up, there's nothing to go back to, by setting up a conditional branches FOR the conditional branches, this SHOULD fix your bug =) also another idea given just to keep players from getting used to the drunk controls you can have this Common Event: [Drunk Controls] [Drunk System] Switches: [Drunk] Variables: Drunk Controls and you can do this ========================================== [Common Event: Drunk System] Conditional Branch: switch Drunk == on -Loop: -Control Variable: [Drunk Controls] Random 0~5 -Wait: 600 Frames -Wait: 600 Frames -Wait: 600 Frames -Wait: 600 Frames -Wait: 600 Frames -Wait: 600 Frames -Comment: This = 3 real life minutes -Control Variable: [Drunk Controls] Random 0~5 -Wait: 600 Frames -Wait: 600 Frames -Wait: 600 Frames -Wait: 600 Frames -Wait: 600 Frames -Wait: 600 Frames -Repeat Above: Else: End: ============================================== [Common Event: Drunk Controls] Conditional Branch: If Variable Drunk Controls = 0 (Set of confused controls 0) else end Conditional Branch: If Variable Drunk Controls = 1 (Set of confused controls 1) else end Conditional Branch: If Variable Drunk Controls = 3 (Set of confused controls 3) else end =================== and so on What this will do is reset controls every 3 minutes =3, if you have a similar advanced AI system as well you can make your character have a drunk dialog with someone =O! hope this has both helped, advanced, and inspired you making an even better awesome system ^_^
-
Ok so recently I finished designing my own personal AI style, I call it: "CZZC's Advanced AI System" - as its the most advanced dialog style i've done so far. Now in your opinion, do you feel that pointless dialog is boring? and that i should just keep it with only hinting tidbits? This is basically how I have the system set up to work. (if you're not interested in the mechanics please refer to the areas that have [EXAMPLE] next to them, and skip to the end of this post [EXAMPLE]First of all the character is set up to appear in different locations and at different times of the day (7 times of the day, each 5minutes) -ok depending on if they're there or not, and depending on what time of the day it is, AND depending on where you are in the main storyline (and sometimes side/mini quests), the dialog will appear from over 100(planned - only have about a few finished for each person -- as every sprite is an individual themself) different text.[/EXAMPLE] it starts off by you choosing which type of conversation do you want to have [EXAMPLE] "Talk" "Question" "(N/A)" "(N/A)" [/EXAMPLE] ======== *NOTE: The N/A's are only options for special characters, for instance if it is a clerk, choice 3 would be "Shopping" ======== if you click talk, random topics come up, and you can continue on a long winded conversation, (This is used to show some history of the KoS Manga character, an easy but random way to gain extra snippets of information about the characters, which may or may not help in the game. -Questions go DEEP if the character is important, and a quest is going on, then questions can be asked about the quest for little hints. Which can later on go into roots of the conversation for more specific details! =O END Now does this seem to be to much for a simple rpg that does not offer the wide range of sandboxing? I need to know because i can put this system into the next line up game project of CZZC, and just leave this game dialog more simple and finish the game faster lol. Thank you. *The AI also responds to the environment, actions you've done previously, the level and strengths of your character, and even more.

[mini-DEMO]Kingdom of Souls: The Binding of Souls [Recruiting]
zane203 replied to zane203's topic in Early in Development
Update: -Time System 90% finished (really its 100%, but i have an urge to add to it) -Lighting System Implemented - at 25% -AI Updated : Their deep dialog is now extended by branching into the time system =D -Leveling System revamped - but not finished -Battle Formula (not the actual formula, but the basis of the stats of enemies and players) have been stripped and are being redone -Tileset format 40% complete as soon as im done with all my systems and ect, i'll begin with preparations for an actual demo (IE: working on side quests and what not) ART! =/ now back to defining these maps >_<' -
I believe the person who created it originally used woods, but all he did was (from what i imagine) is use photoshop to wand the blank area of the floating pillars, and then used a grid to lock it and delete the parts of the woods for his own tileset =3 i dont want to waste your time if you dont already have it ^_^, if thats the case i'll just make it next weekend assuming thats not the battle of the bands trip =/... really, i feel bad for being a drum major and not knowing when it is x.X'
-
I've seen a few pictures somewhere where there's a tileset of like forest land that has the darkspace bottom x.X does anyone have it? I really dont want to spend time making one if i dont have to =3
